As we see here, Itachi sealed Orochimaru with his Totsuka Sword. His Totsuka Sword is connected or merged with her Susanoo ability, which may sense seeing as how they are spirit weapons and Susanoo is connect to him.

Susanoo is a gigantic, humanoid being made of the user's chakra that surrounds them and fights on their behalf.

So basically, Itachi could've just lived if he want to. All he need to do was use orochimaru chakra and technique, and live.

Orochimaru was sealed within the jar of the totsuka blade, which is an external weapon of his susanoo. Itachi cannot use what is sealed within it because they are trapped within a genjutsu-like world.

Itachi doesn't use the same chakra every time, He reshapes the sousano with his new chakra and totsuka is always there after he does. The jar isn't really connected to his spiritually, neither is it connected to him physically. He jsut picked those up and thus aren't regenerated from his body. summons do always share chakra with users, that is a known fact. And kaguya was actually a part of the tree unlike itachi........

I think that just mean's they will be in an eternal genjutsu, its says genjutsu like-world. I dont think they mean actually placing one's physical being inside another dimension...And if that was the case, woudln't a sharrigan user just be able to manipulate it as Sasuke did to Orochimaru's world?

I don't think it works like that. Itachi doesn't gain the abilities of people he seals in the totsuka gourd. I think Kishi would've mentioned that bit to hype it up even more.
