Aren't they allies, comrades sharing the same purpose though? I believe, IF they will eventually fight, it won't be for some epic reason, just to settle their long-lasting rivalry. I would even go as far to say, since neither of them could move for the next days without Sakura's help, if Kishi gave them 5/10 more minutes without any interference , Sasuke would have had enough chakra to look left and Solo glance him.

Naruto lost RSM while Sasuke no longer has bijuu chakra. Sounds pretty even. Didn't he use Preta to take the chakra of the Bijuu? Why didn't he just absorb all of Naruto's attacks?
umm I think them old and new kages know that Sasuke is one of the major reason why they won the 4th war. But then again, Sasuke is not in it for the acknowledgment like your Hokage.
