What do you mean by that? I mean is that people can't wear/show any religious related stuff or something?

As I don't see it possible for a school to forbid religion >.>

So? Can you please explain to me why you think the above mentioned decision is wrong?

It's taking away rights people have set by the constitution, which thereby makes it wrong O_O

So you're saying people should be allowed to preform satanic rituals on schooltime, or are you simply a racist?

the state of texas has been sued several times because parents say that theeir kids have been influenced negatively from a teacher who was pressing their religious veiw upon the child. you may practice all aspects of your religion that abide by state laws if you are a student. if you are a teacher than no.

you can carry any religious item that is not directly dangerous to the health of those around you.

i live in texas i would know O__O

you can do whatever you want pertaining to your religion so long as it doesn't place your school buddies in harms way or break any state laws or school codes.

i know nothing of satanic rituals, so if they all break laws then yes they are banned

Your point being?

the students have not been barred from their religion so long as obvious laws are not broken.

the state does not permit teachers to encourage, interact, or participate in any kind of religious activity.

That's just a fact then, there's no opinion right? Sorry, I mistaken you.

Well, let me ask you, Kiwii. Do you believe that yourself? o_O

In schools, I'm pretty sure rituals aren't allowed anyway in schools because it is a violation of some laws, so that doesn't matter.

But from your standpoint, you're implying that nobody should practice religion of any kind at school. Even if its something as seemingly insignificant as a small prayer before class or something. Assuming I'm correct, your standpoint on this matter has no reason to be taken into serious consideration as it is completely biased against religious practice in the first place.

I am giving my opinion from the standpoint set upon by the constitution, thus proving that it should not be so only for the reason that the constitution of the United States says that one is allowed to practice their religious beliefs freely. Though in schools, certain rules apply that are not in the Constitution, thus only limiting the amount of religious practice that can take place in a school.

All your statement displays is that fact that you are completely uninterested in actually discussing the issue of public schools in Texas and more concerned with getting into a big argument over religion and belief in god.
People are allowed to believe in whoever they want, and allowed to NOT believe in whoever they want. All's fair that way =/

Good day.

what do you think about the subject?

i can smell your desire for an argument from here xD

here is my take on the matter:

the state does not want to take anyone's constitutional rights, however they don't want to be sued because their employees are being a negative influence on children that are not their own. i agree with their decision to inhibit teachers from participating in religious actions around or with school children, who have the right to choose for themselves and their parents may not want them involved with said religion.

Good day.

Just saying I'm wrong doesn't make me wrong, and neither makes you right. The fact that you dissed my question or argument just because I'm "completely biased against religious practice in the first place", without giving any arguments as why you're doing that, is simply agaisnt the sake of a good conversation and argument. Please refrain from making such statements without further argument base.

It may be because you're blind by your own religion beliefs or because you just can't stand people who disbelieve religion, but you completly missed the point of my stand: The practice of religion refered by the creator of this thread and later supported by Iseris is, in my opinion wrong and, following with your constitucional rights argument, against public freedom. If no one should be forced to have a religion, why do you start teaching them at 3 years old? Children aren't old enough to understand the true meaning of religion, and so they can't make a truthfull choice. The religion issue should only be brought up when they reach adulthood. The practice of religion should be forbidden or discouraged on such young children. It's preventing them from maybe choosing a better fitting religion for the religion chosen by their country. If you find a better way of brainwashing and manipulate an entire population, please let me know.

if you don't mind me asking, where are you from?
you have a very sinister outlook for religion.

Nah, I'm just being extreme for the sake of arguing.
It's still true what I said. People should be able to choose their religion, and that life decision shouldn't be influenced by anyone. It's also a fact that the human being only get's into a cognitive state where he is able to begin understanding religion at 16, and many don't even get to that stage.

Portugal, btw.
