*points upwards* look at the first quote...you're slow as hell.

And no I don't as the things you said you can hardly call "banning a religion". Be real -_-

1: Why do you need those at all in school, outside historical and religious classes? Or is your teacher going to use the Bible in math class ~_~ "It took Mozes 40 years to reach Isra?l, 100km from Egypt. What was his average speed?" WTH

2: Are you going to tell me that every student was actively saying prayers non stop? No they probably had to learn certain prayers and say them before lunch or something. People probably just mumbled those prayers without even thinking about it and then start eating.

3: That's not even religious, that's American nationalism and patriotism. It has nothing to do with religion at all. No offense to the Americans here, but apparantly it's a very common habit of Americans to use the name of God in the same context as the USA. They have nothing to do with each other.

You call that banning religion? I find it nothing special, not even worth talking about. What I understand under religion is that the school forbids every kind of form of showing your religion in school for instance forbidding that christians can wear a necklace of Jezus on the cross or a Jewish Kippah.
That's worth discussing as they don't have that kind of authority to do.

Maybe it's because I'm from Western Europe, but forbidding people of saying prayers during class is IMO the same as cutting away dead limbs. Or are you going to tell me all the students pray the entire time?

i agree with you entirely. nothing has been banned only monitored to prevent future lawsuit.

Texas Legeslature has recently passed a new law banning religeose acts of students or
teachers at any time on campus this was filed through as of march 31 2010
the law has changed and i also live in texas so i check up on these things

maybe you should show us where you read this information. but seeing as i work closely with barbara mallory caraway i think i would know if something that major was passed. in short provide us with a link.

Frankly, all that states is that you are willing to force your opinion upon other people. I admire your callousness :|

Well, let me ask you, Kiwii. Do you believe that yourself? o_O

In schools, I'm pretty sure rituals aren't allowed anyway in schools because it is a violation of some laws, so that doesn't matter.

But from your standpoint, you're implying that nobody should practice religion of any kind at school. Even if its something as seemingly insignificant as a small prayer before class or something. Assuming I'm correct, your standpoint on this matter has no reason to be taken into serious consideration as it is completely biased against religious practice in the first place.

I am giving my opinion from the standpoint set upon by the constitution, thus proving that it should not be so only for the reason that the constitution of the United States says that one is allowed to practice their religious beliefs freely. Though in schools, certain rules apply that are not in the Constitution, thus only limiting the amount of religious practice that can take place in a school.

All your statement displays is that fact that you are completely uninterested in actually discussing the issue of public schools in Texas and more concerned with getting into a big argument over religion and belief in god.
People are allowed to believe in whoever they want, and allowed to NOT believe in whoever they want. All's fair that way =/

Good day.

For years, Christian prayer has been banned in public schools. Now, Muslims are demanding prayer time and getting it.
