Wasn't Sakura more of a pupil? I was justing stating some of his achievements, describing him as 'intelligent'.

True, but I still don't think that's enough to convince anyone that she's smarter. Databooks states that she has 3.5/5/5 on Intelligence, while Shikamaru has 5/5/5. Combat is debatable, levels of intelligence aren't. Not in this case.

Nope Sakura was helping with the paper work and what not, Actually because of that Sakura would be the better assistant.

Okay and, that just means, At 5 Sakura intellect would be even more potent.
