I'm sure we can expect some more humorous dialog between Kisame and Gai in the near future. Naruto having to face the truth of himself is a good twist. None of us like to see ourselves as we really are. Was a somewhat weak chapter overall in my opinion but I understand Kishi is building up the plot.
YES, IT IS ABOuT TIME NARUTO WILL TRAIN, WILL LEARN HE HAS EVIL IN HIM TO, QILL GROW- TP A LOT, BECOME A TRUE BADASS. BUT HE WILL BE ABLE TO SUMMON OUT THE FOX AFTER THIS AND RIDE IT LIKE HE DID THE FROGS. i also see a time skip about six months to a year. naruto will be 17 becoming a man

Gai being sea sick gives us a hint that he will fight kisame on this island( get it? kisame is a shark which is a sea animal)

OTOH, given the awesome cliffhanger this chapter has, I believe Naruto facing his deep-seated evil self will have something to do with controlling his "dark" side, which will be helpful in controlling the fox in which Naruto's goodwill will overpower the fox's evil will (if he gonna be able to overcome facing his dark side on the next few chapters).
Yamato will stand by until then, just as when Naruto loses control. This would be his usual role.
Also, It seems that there's Guy vs Kisame Part Two around? Is Guy gonna be following Asuma's footsteps [being dead and all]?

u sick..Gai dying is braking the law of narutoverse. if gai8 die then kakashi is left lonely........:| and by the gai was the one who always spice up the jounins otherwise they are some carp pile of old people.
Man all you narutards critisizing kishi how to write a story... as far as we all are conscerned, naruto is clearly a legendary manga, every chapter is its own master piece, its not like the guy takes 10 minutes to do this stuff...... my input on 492 is a good chapter because who doesnt like to see comical naruto? granted, sh*t is getting tense on the series but thats the essence, all slow chapters will lead to a great series of chapters.. its how it works.. the evil naruto though, is quite contradicting, i dont believe there are any demons to do with the evil in naruto, the falls of truth really are just showing naruto an exact opposite, it's the perfect start to controlling the beast, all the beast is, is true hate, Naruto is true Faith and heart. the conflict between them will only be verbal, how do you fight yourself, Next chapter will be only greater than the last one, you guys got to respect that, all though i must say, i dont know why they make naruto like such a kid when he ismt fighting lol.. when he fights, he's a total badass...

I'm not really betting that Guy's gonna die, though there's a possibility. OTOH, it may also reveal Guy's true power (if it exists). Well, he can't be a Jonin if he's a lameass overall. Thus, if he opens all the eight gates, he's gonna be good as death otherwise.
And, it's gonna be Lee who's gonna get EMO, if Guy dies.

i thought that the chapter was pretty good. i actually had it at a 4 til i saw that bulls*^t ending. ( NB Fam plz dont try n rape me for that comment lol) i mean i thought that it was a little lazy. jmo sorry. it seemed like it was too much like Bleach to me.

It was a good chapter but the unexpected came at the last when Naruto saw his evil side wonder what will happen next week, or maybe it is the first step of controlling the dark power of the tailed beast by first defeating the inner darker powerxd just a thought though
