Essentially. He needed not only Law's help(who weakened him) but multiple gladiators(who save his life during 10minutes) to defeat him. That says it all. He still has ways to go, but his gear4 is already there in terms of level. He just need to improve his haki game at this point

True

Most of the base thought otherwise until today

Even with his insides destroyed Doffy still tanked two chapters worth of attacks, and the way last chapter ended it just seemed unlike Oda to end the battle on that note. I think we should at least see his glasses broken before we can assume he's down.

Dude, read the ****ing chapter.

Luffy was about to end him with one more attack until his time limit ran out and Burgess interrupted. Luffy said it himself he can end it with one more blow but his time limit interfered. That doesn't mean Doffy > G4, that means Luffy's inexperience with his technique is hindering him.

G4 > Doffy.

Doffy > Luffy.

I evidently have read the chapter, sir. Otherwise I wouldn't have used scans from said chapter, would I? I'm impressed by your lack of comprehension, it's astounding considering you're literate.

The fact Luffy needed to fight a heavily injured Doflamingo, on the verge of death, with the assistance of Law and all the gladiators proves that Doflamingo is stronger than Luffy regardless of what gear he is using. All damage he received considered, Doflamingo was able to inflict damage on Luffy and counterattack Luffy's relentless barrage whilst he was using Gear 4th, which proves that even in the state he was in, he wasn't far below Luffy. Thus anyone with common sense can conclude (especially after the portrayal in todays chapter) that Doflamingo beats Gear 4 Luffy whom is in turn slightly stronger than Doflamingo on the verge of death.

Note: Fully healthy Doffy could use his awakening to a much greater extent, most likely. His awakening had Luffy on the ropes.

Doflamingo is a single blow away from death, so G4 is above Doflamingo with him only gaining the advantage by trying to survive until the time runs out.

In an out and out fight, no Law, (hence, Doflamingo's stamina would be higher)no Gamma knife, (hence no damage taken before the fight, immense damage at that)No gladiators, (saving his ass so Doffy doesn't kill him, which he otherwise inevitably would) would he really be above Doflamingo?

G4 "beat"(even though he's in a better state than Luffy now anyway) a verge of death Doflamingo, that's hardly impressive

That's exactly why I said "Doffy > Luffy", if you never caught that part, pal.

What I'm saying is Luffy in G4 has his number in terms of combat ability and clashes. He may not be able to put him down, so to speak, but he sure as hell can overwhelm him physically. Doffy's awakening simply caught him off guard, as Luffy's never seen it before, yet he still ploughed through it and punched him in the face. You've gone and made this thread as a means to prove Doffy is > G4 when there's nothing to support this. All I saw was Luffy getting interrupted and Doffy had his ass saved. Not to say Luffy > Doffy though, as a healthy Doffy would be more durable and is more than capable of outlasting G4. While in G4 however, Luffy is the superior combatant.

You defy all logic

How can Luffy > Doffy > Luffy? Which is essentially what you're saying when you say G4 > Doffy but Doffy > Luffy. It doesn't work like that. He either is or isn't weaker than Doffy, you choose which.

Luffy in G4 is temporarily stronger than Doffy.

However his time limit in G4 and lack of experience won't allow him to put down an absolute tank of a man like Doflamingo.

Doffy ends him.

I wonder how he will fight yonkos since we are going to see them very soon. There is no chance for him unless he teams up with the other supernovas or Oda asspuls some shit.

You're underestimating Oda's writing. He doesn't have to resort to that. :)

OT: I always lol'd when people say G4>Doffy, there's a reason why Doffy suffered a greater handicap than Luffy in the first place guys.

Temporarily stronger than a weakened Doffy*

I wouldn't say A-Ok. Luffy's best attack failed to put down a severely weakened Doffy, yes, but if you paid attention, he's walking with shaky steps(look closely at the lines drawn around his body, they're used to signal trembling/shaking). G4 did its damage, but it's clearly not enough to put down Doffy

Yea I really don't like how Oda used the "technique wears off at the last second" cliché.

Why? Because it put you and your b*llshit back in your box?

No I don't like it because it was obviously plot that caused it to wear off right before Luffy can finish Doffy off.

I suspected that the author would use this move of having a time limit run out thing, its the only way to give such a overwhelming power a disadvantage.

But I thought that it would block his ability to take out the bird cage hence Zorro's plan, oh well, I was half right.

Really we should have expected this, One Piece is about as cliche as it gets.

I really don't know how Luffy is gonna beat Doffy now...

And Doffy hadn't talked since he stood up.
