Skipper, when still human, was a blue haired, blue eyed Mist Village Ninja. He was about five foot six, and weighed 65 kilos. After his unfortunate incident ( see "Turning into a Penguin Arc" in History ) his appearance changed to a four foot eight penguin with normal looks - for penguins, that is. Since he obviously doesn't look normal for humans, and if you think he does, you need to get your eyes checked. - except that his flippers are differentiated into fingers for continued performance of his Ninja Arts.

Personality:
Skipper is a natural born leader, with all the characteristics of a great one - ruthlessness, cruelty, a highly inflated ego, and the power to back his statements up with. He has occasionally been said to help people, but he strongly denies it and will attack you if you mention that issue. He refers to people below him - he considers almost everybody below him - as Private or, in certain cases, Lieutenant or Corporal.

As a penguin/human hybrid, Skipper has certain abilities uncharacteristic of most other ninja. He is an extremely capable warrior, with devastating knowledge of karate, and has been known to humiliate other karate masters with his sheer awesomeness at it. His karate consists of various chop-like attacks with his flippers, that can knock out people with well placed blows to their neck. He is also a weapons specialist, but instead of using traditional weapons, prefers using a set of super-tough petrified salmon to wave around to hit people with, or sometimes oversized tough candy canes and other unconventional weaponry. He stores these weaponry within a separate stomach of his, so he can regurgitate them whenever required to fight.
Skipper is also a skilled evasionist, and often boasts of him dodging a swarm of flying piranha which he claims tore people into such shreds that "their remains had to be buried with a teaspoon". As a penguin, he also has a great resistance to cold and ice and it is impossible to freeze him.
He possesses the normal five elements, and then Ice as his member of Haku's clan. He also has four CEs.
Unfortunately, as a penguin/human hybrid, he is incapable of Summoning techniques, since the Summoning contracts consider him an animal. This led to the Great Summoning Contract Shortage, when Skipper tore a huge amount of them apart for calling him an animal.

History:

Turning into a Penguin Arc

Skipper was a mere lad of eighteen, when he stumbled across the Abandoned Secret Society of Penguins temple. He managed to enter, and then stumbled across an open scroll, which .... unsealed a lollipop. Skipper, not one to turn down free food, ate it. What he didn't know, was that the lollipop contained a secret ingredient that made Henge jutsu permanent during its next use. So, when Skipper transformed himself into a human/penguin hybrid to cross the temple's security system, the lollipop activated and made him permanently in that form.

Surviving the Bloodline Massacre Arc

Skipper's clan was under attack by the Mizukage and his guards to eradicate the bloodlines. However, the attackers, when they came to him, were stunned and decided to leave him alone due to the fact that he was a penguin. They also didn't want conversations with the Mizukage to go this way:

Mizukage: How many bloodline users did you kill today ?
Attackers: A penguin.
Mizukage: Say what ?
Attackers: One penguin.
Mizukage: Why were you killing penguins ? I may be wrong, but I think I instructed you to kill Bloodline Users.
Attackers: In our defense, the penguin claimed he was once a human.
Mizukage: Guards...lock them in the funnyfarm.

Wandering Warrior Arc

Skipper then spent the next four years of his life roaming around the Ninja World. He often claimed that he was stunned people even wanted to be people anymore, and wondered why everyone didn't turn into penguins. On his way, he also picked up numerous foreign languages, including cat, turtle, polar bear, dog, monkey, and Gobbledegook, the language of insane people.

Entering the Akatsuki Arc

Skipper set up base in Yukigakure, where via a cunningly concealed snowman periscope, he saw two men in black and red clouds and nail polish coming towards his base. First, Skipper was unsure if they were actually straight, seeing their nailpolish - but then he was found out by a strange half-plant person and then attacked by a talking, walking blue coloured fish. Fighting back, Skipper nearly ate the fish until he revealed that he was Kisame, and asked Skipper to join the Akatsuki. Skipper agreed, on the condition that he didn't have to wear nailpolish.

Other

Skipper considers himself a penguin more than a human, and as such often insults the human race. He is also a damned good poker player, as seen from Kisame's frequent screams in the Akatsuki hideout that he had lost his money again.
