I have a Lenovo Yoga IdeaPad. Recently I have had error messages saying my computer is "low on memory" and that I need to shut everything down and restart it. It especially gets bad if I am trying to stream something on youtube, or if I am reading Manga online. My shockwave has been "crashing" and there have been a few times now where my entire internet browser has crashed. I am using Google Chrome. There is no sign of a virus, I have run multiple scans. Anyone has any idea on what is going on with my computer? I have only had it for about 2 years now.

I am using Avast. I have thought of buying something else.

Do I buy a seperate drive for that?
Comcast has the best antivirus software in my opinion. It's called Norton (if you don't know) It always keeps my laptop running so good and detects threats immediately. I really recommend it even if you hated comcast cable service. Their internet and antivirus is outstanding

Listen. I know you're trying to help. But stop. Their issue has nothing to do with their antivirus. You're throwing in a red herring. We got this from here, thank you

we'll need a little bit more specs. Do you know how much ram you are using? moreover, i assume you don't mean hard drive memory

To tell ya the truth I am not very computer savvy but I do have this information:

On my "this PC" screen it says Windows8_OS(C:) 33.0GB free of 100GB and Lenovo (D:) 2.23 GB of 3.99GB

I guess I'm not sure what you guys mean when you say I should "buy more RAM" I know what RAM is but I'm no sure how I would buy more.

From my experience with the message, it's only ever appeared about Hard Drive space, none of those seem chronically low, and I've also never been told to shut down everything, so it may very well be RAM. But if the (D) Drive is a partition of the same Hard Drive and not a removable media device it could be that tripping it. If it is a partition, copy the stuff off it and paste it somewhere in (C) Drive. I am assume Windows 8 is at least this similar to Windows 7, bear with me.. Right click Computer > go to Manage. Click on Disk Management > Right click on the smaller partition > delete volume. Once done, right click the (C) Partition and click Extend. Add the unallocated partition to it.
