Say Itachi had the same lofty goal of enslaving every living being in IT as Obito and Madara, he would have actually been successful in solo'ing the Narutoverse.

How? He can give one of his solo crows one of his eyes and the bird would simply cast tsukiyomi on the moon, which would then solo the entire NV. GG, Itachi ends the manga in 3 panels.

Different events would have taken place...same end result though. Itachi is smart as hell, but he isn't the only smart and wise one in the NV. Honestly you guys overrate Itachi Far too much.

Give him everything Madara/Obito had and the plot would just revolve around Sasuke and Naruto getting their Rikudo power ups earlier than what we saw to stop him.

Itachi is strong. But he stopped being the strongest once:

Sasuke obtained EMS
Once Naruto got KCM
7th Gate Gai
The Gokage would Stomp him without Rinnegan
Rikudo Naruto and Rikudo Sasuke would stomp him with Rinnegan

I still don't see him winning. Anyway you put it, the end result will be:

Rofl, Itachi could've easily obtained EMS from Sasuke, he could also obtian Hashirama cells, PS wouldn't be a problem for him at that point.

Of course I am a hater. I've made it no secret of my dislike of the Uchiha. But that doesn't change the fact that if Itachi was the main villain it would only result in him being controlled by kaguya to some extent in the end. As I said. Things would go down differently for sure. Lots of death of major characters.

But you are assuming:

That Itachi needs Sasuke's eyes to obtain EMS. He did kill his father and could have easily taken his eyes instead. He may still have love for his brother as Madara had love for Izuna.

In the end once people are on to him the result will be the same. The entire world would band against him. Killing Sasuke/Naruto will just result in Hagoromo appearing before them in their last moments to give them their Rikudo power-up.

Madara is a legendary Uchiha warrior too and look how he ended up. Gender bended and killed by his own croney.

Ya man Itachi had immense amounts of potential that I don't think a lot of people realize. If he truly was the evil psychopath we thought he was he could've easily harvested sasuke's eyes and get ems, find a way to get hashirama dna through orochimaru (since itachi is a genius) and cure his disease, and maybe find a way to become a bijuu. He had the potential to surpass Madara. But of course if he had done that he wouldn't be my favorite character. I respect the character for his heroism and morals.

If Hagoromo and Kaguya don't get involved from both sides though, then I guess he really can pull it off. As long as his goal isn't IT since we all know what its purpose really was.
