Honestly, you can argue about Asuma being faster, better at CQC and whatnot, but imply that Kabuto, who knew Obito's identity, knew what was writteb on the Uchiha tablet whitout even reading it, who knew that Madara did not died at the Valley of the End and many other secrets would not know something as basic as this? If Kabuto die it won't be by lack of info.

Kabuto simply gets defeated in CQC. That's Asuma's speciality, being a brawler and all. Inb4 Wind Blades clash with chakra scalpel and Kabuto's hand gets sliced off.

No knowledge on Asuma's range isn't some small detail. Doesn't matter who Kabuto is or what information he knew (not relevant to this battle in any way), not having knowledge on something like that can prove to be fatal. It only takes one miscalculated dodge and he ends up with a serious wound.
