Worth getting Wii U just for Smash?

I was really contemplating trading in my entire Xbox 360 collection for buying a Wii U + Super Smash Bros + Gamecube Adapter with controllers.

Is this a wise choice do you think?

I love my xbox 360, but I also know how much I love playing smash bros with my friends. I would also like to play competitively.

For those of you who have the game, is it worth buying a whole system just for it? I did it with the Wii and I wasn't disappointed with Brawl.

Well I'm saving my money up for it so I'd say yeah. Then again I'm a huge smash Bros fan as well as competitive player Id even own ZeRo.

If you liked Brawl then you will love Smash 4. It's also a MASSIVE game. There is a lot to do. Add to that the online play and you won't get bored with it for a long while, especially if you have friends to play with. I'd say yes.

Nope.
My wii u is collecting dust due to not that many playable games that I would enjoy on the console.
Not worth selling everything you have for one game that will slowly becoming boring.

Just save up your money if you have too otherwise you may regret it later.

I love smash 4 and I'm obsessed with it. I don't know if you should sell your xbox 360 for it but they are gonna make pretty good games for the wii u soon.

lol Nah. If you want some talented players, go play the top Melee players. They'll mop the floor with you.

OT: Nah. Down Throw + Up A: The Game isn't worth all of that. Melee's the best SSB game. Fact.

Yeah I was just kidding about being better than ZeRo lol. But in all seiousnous I'm no pushover when it comes to competitive smash. I think nah scratch that I know I'd do good in a smash tournament. Also you are right melee is da shit Roy was my boy in dat game even though he was low tier I still main him. And I say main becuase I still play melee to this day.

How well do you think you'd do?

Roy is slight when compared to Marth. lol I don't even really know that I have a "main." I like playing all of the top tiers (minus Icees). I like Falcon the most just because he's ballsy and stylish, but I'd say I'm best with Fox or Marth. I'm not sure. lol

Have you ever considered a Nintendo 3ds? It has smash also, plus a lot, and I mean, A LOT of good games.

I don't particularly like portable systems.

I would rather look at a large screen than a small one, and when I'm playing games it's almost always at home, nowhere else.

Fair enough, I was just saying since it does have more good games than the Wii u.

Yes and no. I was in the same boat, but luckily I had two 360s. I sold one (was og and free of red ring) and a remote and got like $55, the guy was generous though and we were talking about smash before it actually came out. I still have my 360 and am happy I didn't lose it, but tbh I don't play it that much anymore (I got a One this holiday season). If I had one 360 though, I'd keep it and save just a little more if possible. Smash is so amazing though. I always say something like "alright I'll play for 30 mins, then an hour and a half has passed. Smash is the reason I got Wii U but I got other games as well (wind walker for free with June promotion, persuaded me to buy it more, NSMB, Mario Kart 8). There are also bundles, so you can get a game along with smash. Wii U is great, but don't sell many good games and a great console just for one game. I'd say save about $50-$100 more and keep it. Just my opinion though, good luck sir.

I don't play competitively, but I can't stand Brawl, so I doubt I would be a fan of the new one.

I don't play competitively, but I can't stand Brawl, so I doubt I would be a fan of the new one.

I loved brawl, but I see why it's viewed so harshly, me lee was a game all about offense and the players ability to combo. Me and my brother were so ridiculously good at the game that we both knew whoever got hit first was likely to die.

Brawl is so different that they can hardly be compared, because it focuses on bringing a defensive play style to the board, and many people don't like that. I also feel some qualities in brawl allowed for too strong of a defense at higher play levels, so it was somewhat annoying to try and land a hit no matter your skill, and only certain moves could make true inescapable combos for each character.

Smash 4 I feel has correctly balanced an offensive and defensive play for most all characters and general mechanics, and is very enjoyable.

My one complaint is what they did to marth. They nerfed the living hell out of him as hard as they could.

I'm pretty sure he is completely undefeated in competitive Sm4sh sets right now lol.

Melee is the best!
