Well, yeah! In the technical sense, Naruto's progress was because of his natural ability and his innate potential to learn and execute jutsus, since he is the reincarnation of Ashura. And not because of hard work since it's quite evident that he didn't really work much hard in comparison to Sasuke, yet he's on Sasuke's level. I'd say since he is a transmigrant of Ashura, he does get the inevitable advantage of power and victory, and giving due credit to the Nine Tails since it plays a huge role in Naruto's advancement, Naruto is really quite adept in learning and executing jutsus. But I would avoid calling him a prodigy or genius...
Please tell me you are joking before I school you.

1. Ashura was never a genius, so simply being a transmigrant wouldn't guarantee this trait.
2. Naruto worked 1000x harder than Sasuke because he's not a genius, while Sasuke was.

Don't agree with this part.

Think about it
He mastered shadow clone jutsu (a b level jutsu) in literally seconds

Mastered the rasengan faster than his Minato and Jiraiya then infused with a chakra nature something his own prodigy father couldn't do, then made a shuriken versions of it that was infused with a chakra nature.

Mastered Sage mode faster than Hashirama and Jiraiya without using a animal.

Got control of tailed beast chakra faster than any other jinchuuriki

Mastered tail beast mode in a seconds (Side noting: you would probably want to say that because Kurama was helping him, Killer bee got help from the Eight Tails and still took him years to get control of tail beast mode, and naruto did is a less than a minute.

He then fused Sage mode and Tailed Beast Mode like it was nothing

Got chakra from at the tailed beast and He was immediately able to use and Chakra natures and Kekkai Genkais of all the tailed beasts without any training.

He was able to manipulate the black balls on a level higher than Madara and Obito.

and list just keeps going, yet we still call him an idiot
@Bold well duh he just had to ask them for chakra and boom he can use they KKG's and the other part no he can't. :|

Yea Naruto has some impressive feats but he's still stupid, like forgetting Nagato can absorb chakra or attacking juubito without senjutsu. It all could be comical humor or just kishi restating part 1 Naruto portrayal

actually i think Naruto is Genius not Sasuke.

If you compare Sasuke with Itachi. Sasuke is Lukcy emotional guy with average skills.
And you can't compare Naruto with itachi, because he is all other kind ninja. You must compare him with Y-man or Minato...
Naruto can't be compared to Minato.
Sasuke wasn't a genius...?

He is not genius.

At first he was hard worker. That's why he was best in class. Why he was a hard worker ? He had goal. He was training all the time.
But if you remember when they were learning how to clime a tree. Sakura > Naruto = Sasuke.

And Itachi > Sasuke.
Itachi fast learner. Every1 was calling Itachi Prodigy, not Sasuke.

Except, you know, Lee, Kakashi, Orochimaru, Kabuto, Madara, and the Sage of Six Paths.

So Sasuke never worked hard for his jutsu ?

No no. He worked hard, just not as hard as Naruto had to work, as his natural genius would mitigate most of the effort necessary.

1. Yeah, so Naruto isn't a genius as well. He's got natural ability to learn and perform jutsus, and unleashes the potential of his power (he doesn't create new jutsus based on nothing, it's because he's Ashura's transmigrant that he has the capability to do so). Simply that doesn't make him a genius.

2. That statement is so wrong. Naruto sure worked hard, quite hard. But the thing is Sasuke worked just as hard. Just recap everything from the Chunin exams. So, in comparison to Sasuke, Naruto wasn't a big standout when it came to hard work. It was only because of his natural ability (being the transmigrant of Ashura) and significant help from Kurama that he's able to reach this level. And yes, Sasuke was a genius, but that doesn't mean he was strolling around learning new jutsus and performing them. He worked so hard for Chunin exams, he trained years with Orochimaru. Is that not hard work? And Naruto worked quite hard to master Rasenshuriken. Do you think Kirin was just a random experiment. Was Sasuke not endowed with a goal to defeat Itachi? Did he not work so hard to achieve that goal?

Yeah, school me. Give it a try!
The entirety of Naruto's skill set and tactics all fall in the line of hard core and intense training, aside from the powerup given by Hagoromo and Bijuu Mode.

Before I even make a deep analysis, Naruto would never have had the stamina/chakra to pull most of these techniques off by himself. His own chakra was mixed in with Kurama's, so at an early stage he was already being pumped by the Kyuubi thanks the 4th. Naruto was never really born a genius, he was just born lucky in a sense. Always given the right pieces in play.

Shadow clones > Naruto had to train for hours (or was it all day and night?) just to master the technique.

Rasengan > Do I have to explain why this technique took such an ample amount of time? It lasted the entire Hokage retreival mission arc just for him to learn it, and mind you he only peformed it once at the last minute before the arc itself ended.

Summoning Jutsu > His first try he summoned a tadpole, and it took quite a while for him to master the technique, and even that he could not do without Kurama's chakra.

Rasenshuriken > Same with the Rasengan except watered down due to the shadow clone method, he still had to train incredibly

Time skip > Mastering his already known skills to a new level.

Rasenshuriken > Self explantory

Sage Mode > Self Explantory

KCM > Could not do without the help of his mother, and Killer Bee.

Shushin (KCM) > Had to get used to moving at incredible high speeds

Bijuu Mode + Sage Mode > Did not come "naturally" --It wasn't hard to begin with, Kurama noted that it did not work earlier because Kurama would not synch his body with Ma and Pa. Though now that Kurama trusted him, you can understand the rest.

BIjuudama > He trained throughout the War Arc, and that mastery applies when he learned BM. It wasn't instantly granted, Naruto had to master the chakra ratios.

Most of Sasuke's training in Part 2 came from MS/EMS - Mind you, that was not really training at all.

Exactly Lol
Ashura was a failure, he needed the help of cooperation to even match his brother.

Since when does being an ashura transmigrant grant the ability to learn powerful jutsu? Do you have any scans? To support your claims?

Okay they were but. but they call him because he was strong in his age.

Why Sasuke was strong?

He had uchiha brain. Which are common thing in Uchihas.

And all rest was luck.
Orochimaru take him under his wing and teach him. Because he was one of the last Uchihas.
MS- Because he was Itachi brother.
EMS- Because he was Itachi brother.
Rinnegan- because he was chosen one.

Skills like Sasukes is common in Uchihas. But he won a lottery ticket.

Exactly.

Plus the fact that Naruto never actually mastered the Rasengan until the War arc, meaning it took him just as long to learn it as it took Minato to create it from scratch.

And the fact that everything in Naruto's arsenal was handed down to him, not as a handout, but as a guide for what must be done. Even the Rasenshuriken was just the completion of what Minato started, and the Bijuudama was the end of the Rasengan process as hypothesized by Bee.

Everything else was either due to his massive chakra which let him whittle years of work down to weeks, his affiliation with the Bijuu, who either gave him the power necessary to finish jutsus, or the knowledge to use their jutsus given to him, or his specific training with individuals with exactly the necessary skills to complement Naruto's arsenal.

Okay they were but. but they call him because he was strong in his age.

I'm not trying to get deep into this topic, but the fact is Sasuke progressed during his 2 years of training from Chuunin to Kage level, while Naruto progressed from Chuunin to high-Chuunin.

That's the difference between genius and hard work.

And you conveniently side-step the fact that after a single day of having his MS, Sasuke had already surpassed Itachi's skill at using Amaterasu, and mastered ~75% of the Rinnegan's potential, even surpassing what had been known in some cases, in a matter of hours.
