I disagree, i don't expect Sasuke to be an absentee bc of what he went thru. I would be disappointed if that was the case. So do you believe Sasuke knows about her existence?

Maybe, but a lot of kids grow into their parents/guardians unwittingly. I think it'd be a dumb plot twist for Sakura to be withholding the fact her dad doesn't know about her, but hey, could happen.

Yea but still regarding just sasuke's character i think it would be disappointing for Sasuke to do that to sarada. To the point thati don't see him do that at all. I mean he wanted to kill itachi his whole life just bc he pretty much did that to him

Yea, except he idolizes his brother now :| so I dunno. There's definitely something odd going on here in the story, I just hope Sasuke isn't trying to be the greater good "Batman" father lol

He's pretty meh at the moment. Just a Naruto/Konohamaru copy. His attention seeking isn't really warranted considering he still has his mom and sister there for him, even if Naruto is not there as often.

I'd still like to see how he interacts with the other members of his family, and how his apprenticeship to Sasuke will turn out before I write him off.

One chapter is not enough to make conclusions right off the bat. Considering how Kishi is a master Troll, I wouldn't trust what's given in the first chapter only, especially considering the low screentime. There is a reason for everything that's happening which will be revealed in the next chapters.

Sakura's character would actually be very disappointing if she just did it for sasuke's sake but like others have said, let's not jump to conclusion. If she did it to ensure the best for sarada despite both of her parents not being there then i would actually be impressed with sakura.

I'm kinda disappointed with Boruto as well so far bc unlike sarada, he doesn't seem like his own character. he literally is like naruto except he doesn't really havea reason to be like that cause not everyone in the village hates him, and even tho he doesn't see his dad as much, he is still alive. Anyways it's only the 1st chapter so we will obviously learn more about boruto later so we shall see.

also i wonder what happened to karin lol

According to 698 and 699 Sasuke is supposed to be a changed man, yet 700 and Gaiden 1 showed us otherwise. Never really understood what Kishi does with his characters. He is constantly ruining Sasuke and Sakura's developments. I wonder what is about to come. I can only imagine Sasuke saying "Yeah, sorry" after 12+ years of absence, or saying he works for the greater good. Karin being Sarada's mother is just too weird, considering that SS was basically confirmed in 699 and that they had a family picture at that exhibition. My bet is that the glasses are mementos or something like that. Let's just wait 2 painful weeks without Naruto news.

Yes at times sasuke's development doesn't fit and at times Sakura's development is just disappointing but hopefully this will be well executed. The idea that you brought up tho, that maybe smth happened to karin and they decided to pass on the glasses, is interesting. It would be kinda weird imo and i there are a lot things that hint at karin being her mom but who knows.

I think it's too early to make judgments. There really is not enough information here yet. I cannot see Sasuke ignoring his own child if he knew he had one after what he went through without his family. Everything he did was to make sure that such a horrific thing would not happen to another family and so someone like Itachi would not have to make such a horrible choice. I can't see him staying away so long if he knew he had a child. I think he still would have done his redemption tour but would have come back periodically to check on his family had he known.

As for Sakura fainting they might be combining the anime and the manga. She passes out more often in the manga, but it's usually from chakra exhaustion. She doesn't have as large a supply as everyone thinks. She has great chakra control, but not as large of a pool as some of the other characters. Whether or not she's Sarada's mom, we will have to wait and see. She looks more similar to Karin and it is strange that Karin's picture was behind the other one instead of in another frame.

Thanks for responding Trea! I agree with peu much everything you said and your response had actually brought up a new possibility. Maybe sakura is just lying to sarada about her dad's whereabouts bc she doesn't want to explain all the bad things Sasuke had done in the past. This is less likely bc there's still the fact that there is karin's pic and like you said she looks more similar to Karin both in looks and personality
