But he needs to get close to assassinate Hiruzen and his clones, coming in close would give Hiruzen the advantage and allow him to catch the scent. Jinton and if Hiruzen can dodge it is the question, which I am unsure of.

Well if he can sense then all he would need to do is fire off raiton spears or a slicing fuuton at Mū's position the second he goes visible which takes less prep than Jinton. Not to mention that clones can be spread out all throughout the region so Mū can't really pick more than one off at a time before getting hit, nor is he going to be able to discern the real Hiruzen from his clones.

Eh, true. But Jinton isn't likely going to be used without it being from Hiruzen's view point if they're back to back or close together. If Muu goes visible too close, he's blasted. Too far away, the attacks likely dodged. I don't see sensing being needed.
