What Naruto saw off-screen was nothing more then blank pages. Because that is what it means to be off-screen. If what you said was true then Naruto would have had some sort of flashback of what he saw during that off-screen period of time. A character's connection is developed on-screen not off-screen. You fail to realize the basics of reading a fictional story.

And oh his words are nothing more then hype unless proven. This goes the same with the Prime Hurizen hype.

Then sorry to say.. characters do breath and so on.. if you are going to talk about characters.. don't use the "pages" excuse.. in which essentially, all characters are simply on pages.

And no, he doesn't need a flashback.. Hashirama didn't hokage flashbacks when they were talking about Naruto surpassing him in the future. Many people didn't get flashbacks.

Just as i said, if shikamaru answered the question, he will most likely to be targeted by other ninja, so best way is to act like noob and relies on cheat.

But what you don't get is Shikamaru answered those questions while Ino was controlling his body. So from others point of view, he looked like someone who knows what he is doing anyway. He would've targeted by others in both ways, it wouldn't have changed anything. So if Shikamaru knew the answers, he would solve them himself and not relied on cheat because there is no reason to.

I edited my post a few seconds after posting it to cover this. Shikimaru was not as diligent as Sakura or Sasuke. If he was more prepared for that test, he would have done just as good as Sakura. Sasuke prepared himself for tests like that, but did not have the comprehension to score well.

Sakura isn't smarter than Sasuke. But she has more technical knowladge since she likes to read and study a lot. Sasuke is focusing his intelligence on battle related complex ninjutsu etc, not which plant is more useful.

We must not underestimate the sheer intelligence Madara showed us with this. For most of us common folk, it wastes a lot of money to undergo a gender changing operation in real life. Madara got one for free, which shows us how opportunistic and pragmatic Madara really is, and how meticulously he planned this. In other words, BZ didn't manipulate Madara, but rather, Madara manipulated BZ into giving him a gender change! It was Madara's plan from the beginning. Why did he want to become a female? Because he's a massive masochist along with being obsessed with power/powerful opponents, and apparently females have a higher pain tolerance than men, especially during pregnancy. That way, he could laugh at a greater amount of pain(because even the biggest masochist has his limit). And Madara got 9 bijuu rasenshurikens to the face while Kaguya took over his body to laugh at.
