Hand-To-Hand Combat:
Hashirama loses in this category. While they are both well-versed in this area, Madara has the upper hand due to his war fan(gunbai). He also has the advantage of the Rinnegan's chakra receiver rods. If penetrated into the opponents body, both restriction and the transfer of that opponent's chakra to the originator can occur.
Basic Wood-Style:
Madara easily handles Hashirama's basic wood movements due to his long-ranged fire-style techniques. We have seen him even use ones that scale the size of the ten-tails. This easily clears the landscape and gets rid of any unnecessary blockage.
Wood-Style: Advent Of A World Of Flowers:
As noted in
Basic Wood-Style, Madara is able to clear the land of any wood techniques that scatter across, including this technique. His Susano'o also allows him to jump through or destroy the surrounding environment.
Wood-Style: Wood Human Technique:
While a very useful technique indeed, it is feeble compared to Perfect Susano'o in aerial combat. The Perfect Susano'o is able to swiftly carry out long-distance slashes capable of chopping away at the very wood this technique is made of. It doesn't have a sufficient defense capable of holding off on those slashes for too long. Madara's large fire-style use can also be used to cook this thing. As we've seen, Susano'o users are able to control their avatar from a distance while outside of it, meaning both Madara and his Susano'o can attack at the same time.
Wood-Style: Wood Dragon Technique:
This technique is very weak compared to the power of other wood-based attacks. It presents the power to absorb, but if it were to come in close proximity of Madara, then Almighty Push swiftly deals with it. A simple slice of the Susano'o sword without going into Perfect mode can also destroy the dragon.
Sage Art: Wood-Style: True Several Thousand Hands:
The Buddha itself cannot be destroy by any means, but because of Perfect Susano'o's ability to fly, it is able to maneuver around and slice through the hands that come towards it. As Madara ascends in to the air, he also launches multiple Planetary Devastation orbs that take the Earth below them with it. This renders Hashirama and the Buddha unable to properly control aim and Susano'o to deal with the statue much more easily. The manipulation of gravity would also allow the summon to tilt in an unfavorable direction, as it cannot move on it's own. If it comes to the worst, the Buddha in mid-air breaks Susano'o and Madara uses Almighty Push to deal with the last of the hands that would be able to reach him before it becomes enveloped with rock from the ground. He also can use Limbo and swap to a safer location.
