how to love yourself

Ever since i was little i´ve been told that in order to be happy i had to love myself but the thing is i never understood this fully, just because people say "love yourself" doesnt mean you automatically know how to love yourself. Dont misunderstand this not an emo thread about how much i hate myself, i dont hate myself most of the times but i also dont feel the self love some people talk so much about.

So my question is , how do you do to love yourself?

Imo love yourself is basically self-confidence and not lettng random trolls kill your self-esteem. We all have good and bad aspects, you focus on the good and improve the bad instead of hating yourself for every bad thing you got.

I agree, accepting your self, and forgiving your self for anything you perceive as negative. I think those are actions of self love, so it's a good place to start, and for some, could be all that's needed.

On a serious note, Loving yourself doesn't mean anything sexual or like putting your own penis in your ass.

When you accept yourself for what you are, when you gain self confidence, when people commenting on your attitude doesn't bother you, when you're free from any kind of self guilt, that is when you actually Love yourself. People might say it casually but reaching that stage is actually quite difficult irl cuz most of the people got some insecurities which forever haunt them and they never get rid of 'em

if you are, for example, ugly (i'm not saying you are), and you're always hiding your face in front of other people because of it, then you need to love yourself by NOT hiding your face in front of people.

i guess what im trying to say is, don't put yourself down because of your physical appearance/ugliness; be confident.
