[Predictions] Naruto Manga 489 Discussion and 490 Predictions

I was just re-reading the chapter and talking with my roommate...and I'm starting to think the one on the end is not Nagato but Hidan...that was actually what I thought at first and then I read what others had posted and they said it was Nagato, I got confused. Here are my reasons:
1. Nagato has dark hair. Though the hairstyle looks like Nagato's it is light coloured. It would also make sense for Hidan to no longer have his hair slicked back. Compare to pg 1 of chapter 444.
2. The emaciation - if Hidan is dead, he likely died of starvation, which would make the extremely emaciated person make sense. I realize that Nagato was skinny, but comparing again to pg 1 of Ch 444, not quite that skinny.
3. Kabuto seems to have brought them in pairs - Deidara and Sasori were partners, Itachi's partner is still alive, and then Kakuzu, whose partner is Hidan, so Hidan makes more sense than Nagato since he completes the pair

The light hair could be an error, but I still think it more likely that the first guy is Hidan - we won't know for sure until we see his eyes.

anyway. i hope madara/tobi wont fall for it. and i had a feeling kabuto is implying tobi isn't really madara..his personality is still a mystery.

that "young man" the old sage was saying was definitely sasuke. if it wasn't, naruto would not say he knew what the toad is saying...

also i'm confused if the first man resurrected was really Nagato? the color of his hair was light and in the previous manga it was dark. ftw. if it was hidan,i don't think he had hair that long.so lets wait and see for the next chapter.

and about that edo tensei, i think its just a show off, next chapter they will be "unsummoned" before sasuke arrives. sasuke will try to attack kabuto but madara will stop him and they will talk. i want to see kisame too next chapter and what really is he planning. i don't really care what's gonna happen to naruto. im an akatsuki fan! lol.

im quite surprised of the progress kabuto made!!!! he really is a genius!! and now stronger then kakashi(in anime they were of the same stregth).....and was nice to see madara surprised seing edo tensei! lol

It's too early to say that Kabuto is stronger than Kakashi. Even in the manga, though it is said that they may be equal, Kabuto was the one who always took heels on facing Kakashi. Currently, Kabuto is much stronger as compared to his previous self. But Kakashi has Mangekyo Sharingan; with just one move Kakashi may send Kabuto to some other dimension. We can't say who is stronger if they do not fight. What we can do is make assumption, that's all.

Theres something fishy about how Kabutoro called Madara "Tobi" but then says, "Ah thats right you liked to be called Madara". (and he seems to be taking the piss out of it) So obviously Kabutoro knows something we dont.

And its funny how Kakashi and Tsunade have a chat about if it really is Madara thats behind the mask. With Kakashi not fully sure if it is him. But then who else could it be? And then we will be back to the countless "Who is Tobi threads"haha.

And i wonder if Oro and Danzo's partnership history will come out? Maybe Kabutoro will spill the beans to someone?

What a great chapter! Kabuto's summoning.. wow. Im happy to see Itachi again , even if its only his corpse XD
Although i think the meeting with the octopus might not be necessarily be with KB. In the future an incident mightve occured ( Kisame ) and he might have needed to release his *monster* and dies. As a result the *monster* went to see Kyuubi for help. Dont scream at me for that tho , im only predicting =/

Ya I too was thinking about it or am I just thinking about it too much. Also Kabutomaru saying don't underestimate how much he knows hmmm also Kakashi and Tsunade talking if the person is really Madara is Kishi giving us some hint about Tobi not being Madara. But really there is no other way that he could be anyone else but Madara he has the Sharingan he knows about everything about Konoha's past and also the secrets of the Sharingan I mean MS and EMS. I am getting a bit confused

This should be Nagato, as Hidan was their newest member and did not know of Orochimaru. That is why I am supposing Kabuto does not know of him either. And if Orochimaru knew he would have hunted him down to test his immortality.

Go compare the image from this chapter with the image of Nagato on page 1 of chapter 444 - Nagato is skinny, but not quite that skinny. Pay close attention to the hair colour, as I have already said.

Also, Sennin Jinchuuriki, yes Hidan was not that skinny to begin with, but remember, he did not die from being dismembered or anything, but was buried alive and would have eventually starved to death (since, despite his immortality, he would still die without nutrition), hence why he is emaciated (hollow-cheeked, which Nagato was not, ribs protruding, etc.)

To danivass: Just because Hidan did not know about Orochimaru does not mean that Kabuto did not know about Hidan. Remember that Kabuto was one of Sasori's spies, meaning he probably knew just about everything there was to know about the Akatsuki, so we cannot rule out it being Hidan for that reason.

In any case, as I have already said, we will not know for sure until we see his eyes.

So Nagato is a little skinnier than I thought...I still say that the ribs in the final image of this week's chapter appear to be protruding more than Nagato's did, and his cheeks appear more hollow - Nagato never had particularly hollow cheeks, only a little bit.

My point about the hair, btw, is that in the image you posted, Nagato had dark hair, but in the final image of this weeks chapter he had WHITE HAIR like HIDAN. The hairstyles though similar, also do not match. The white haired individual in this weeks chapter has shorter hair and lacks the bangs between the parts...more like what Hidan's would be if it wasn't slicked back.

I am not definitively saying that it is Hidan. The white hair could be an error. But it is not something that can be entirely ruled out. Again, we will not know until we see his eyes.

Not entirely true. Hidan was "immortal" as was Kakuzu. Neither had true immortality. It never said that Hidan did not require food and water to live. If you read the Naruto Wikia article on Hidan (and their information is usually relatively accurate) it specifically states that he does require food and water to live. Its never really clear in the manga what the extent of Hidan's immortality is or where it came from, so we can't possibly know if he's still alive or not.

Kabuto was loyal to Orochimaru who had negated Sasori's technique, he had not had contact with Sasori at least from the beginning of the Chuunin exams. And as he was loyal to Orochimaru he would surely have told him about an immortal member of Akatsuki. Furthermore Hidan had so many arguments with Kakuzu that you seriously cannot expect them to have been a team for more than 3 years, hell even 1 year. This makes perfect sense to me.
