Who is more important to Naruto uzumaki?

We have seen how Naruto would react for Jiraiya's death, how would he have been like if that was iruka's death?

Iruka - the guy who saved Naruto from loneliness

Jiraiya - the guy who helped Naruto grow stronger

Who does Naruto value more ? (this topic has a obvious answer in the manga, but i wanna know what the fans think)

I think its going to be Iruka, he was the first person to acknowledge him.
To a growing child that is faced with hate, someone like Iruka plays a major role.

Jiraiya was garbage. He left Naruto for 12 years, doing what? Gathering info on Akatsuki? lol he came back only knowing their names and knowing a vague concept of their goal.
Iruka is no better. He ignored Naruto for 12 years, then he became Naruto wankboy after he saved him from Mizuki.

Not really. He has been in Naruto's life since Ninja Academy Tryouts. Naruto wasn't 12 when he was accepted into the ninja academy.

OT:

Iruka,

Only because he was an integral part in Naruto's early childhood development. Where Hiruzen was suppose to provide direction and could not (due to his status as Hokage) Iruka helped keep Naruto grounded as one of the 1st people (still living) who actually publically looked after his well being.

As Naruto said if not for him (and others like kakashi, Jiraiya, Sasuke, etc) he could have turned out just like Part I Gaara.

I can't tell. Both were present at different times and contributed in different ways.
Naruto is not the type of guy to put dear one A over dear one B. Anyway, what do you have in mind?

Iruka saved Naruto's life. Literally. His words were really important to him, he thought everone hates him because he was the 'Demon Fox'. Iruka by acknowladging him there, gave him a purpose as a shinobi.

According to Killer B, the guy who he sees inside Naruto's heart is none other than Iruka.

Jiraiya

He spent 3 years living with Naruto and teaching him everything he knew. From combat, teamwork, and a philosophy.

Reread chapter 1 and Iruka has to be lectured by Hiruzen on why he should be patient with Naruto. Iruka was not some cheerleader pom poming on the sidelines cheering for Naruto. He was equally annoyed and didn't empathize with Naruto until Mizuki made an attempt on his life.

I don't like Iruka but him.. Jiraiya was just ****in *****es while Naruto was being discriminated against and even at that Naruto had to beg and pester Jiraiya to help him. Swap Jiraiya and Irukas time with Naruto around though...

What would Jiraiya have even done if Naruto became like part 1 Gaara? actually I'm starting to think Jiraiya. Iruka was Narutos foundation but that's just the way events played out. Wasn't Iruka irrelevent between the intro and Naruto's Kyuubi training? From the top of my head Iruka mainly just scolded Naruto and felt sorry for him.

Same could be said when we were first introduced to Jiraiya. He thought Naruto was annoying AF and kept taking off on him. It was in later chapters (same with Iruka) that we learned they were involved in Naruto's life much sooner.

Well considering that Iruka was more of an older brother figure to Naruto, whereas Jiraya was like a father or grandfather type figure, the two roles are vastly different. Though what I would not have liked to see is what would have happened if Iruka died. I mean, Naruto's reaction to Jiraya was heartbreaking. If Iruka died on top of that, Naruto probably would have tried to stop thinking, period. And that seems to be about the pit of depression right there, so...it's a good thing that Iruka survived. The two took up different places of his heart, but by the time Killer Bee met Naruto, Jiraya was long since dead. So it stands to reason that Iruka would be the first thing he sees, since Iruka continues to be a pillar of support for Naruto.

Iruka himself wasn't a strong shinobi, thats why he couldn't train Naruto. However, he was the guy who Naruto can rely on, and count for to be always there.

Iruka thinks of Naruto as a little broskie.

It's common knowledge that he's a mega-fodder. It took both of them a good while to actually start a relationship because Naruto was Naruto, BUT WHEN THEY DID. Naruto had someone to talk to but by the time he finished with Jiraiya, he was a mini- Jiraiya.

Well, at that point Jiraiya was already dead. But, in that case you could say Iruka understands Naruto better. That comment was about Iruka's connection towards Naruto, not the other way around.
After thinking a bit more about it i think i see and understand why someone would say Iruka is held in higher regard. For me they're even in Naruto's heart though. Together with Kakashi
