I have to say that this is a freaking awesome chapter. Used to be we’d only get one great one in awhile, but the last month or two it’s been epic chapter after epic chapter. There was a lot of long anticipated stuff in this chapter, too. I was like WTH while I was reading it.
Karin and Ibiki = hilarious!! Her sob story (and the dude that fell for it!!) made me laugh so hard, as did her demand for food. Seemed to be a lot of food centered humour in this chapter...wonder if Kishi was hungry while he was writing it or something?
Anyway, glad we saw Karin. Hope she does actually say something about Sasuke and Kabuto.
I am glad to see that Tsunade is officially still Hokage. However much Kakashi would have been epic (even if he doesn’t think so) as Hokage, I am glad the time of Tsunade is not over yet.
I thought the funniest part of this chapter was when Naruto got reversed summoned. Imagine expecting a mouthful of ramen and getting a mouthful of worm soup...yuck!!
The conversation at Myouboku Mountain was rich with things to talk about...Naruto will meet an octopus – this confirms that, at some point, Naruto will meet the Hachibi – not necessarily Killer Bee, but definitely Hachibi. Good to know. I was especially interested by the part about Sasuke, for two reasons:
1. It seems Naruto has “seen” the future himself – this may mean that I was right to say last week that Itachi’s gift was the gift of foresight. Naruto seems to have gained the ability to see some of the future, at least that which concerns Sasuke.
2. Secondly...”You know what he is?” (pg 15) – What is Sasuke? Has he been made a jinchuriki? Is there something else going on? Just a very interesting line.
I also found Naruto’s “I’m prepared for everything that is going to happen” line a little strange...Isn’t Naruto the one who convinced Neji that you can change your fate? I don’t understand why he isn’t fighting to change what will happen now that he knows it. Maybe once we find out exactly what he knows it will be less puzzling, but it’s certainly interesting that Naruto knows the future. And about the elder toad not finishing what he was saying...it may be possible that what Naruto told Sasuke is not the whole truth, or even the truth at all, and that’s why the elder toad is cut off, so he won’t reveal the plot too much, but as others have said, he may have been going to say “and you will both die”
We also finally see the seal Jiraiya left. There’s some really neat stuff in this part too.
1. Naruto’s seal is officially not like the others, since he can release the Kyuubi if he wanted to...I wonder if this means he would survive if the Kyuubi was extracted?
2. This is also the key to perfecting “that” jutsu...will we finally find out exactly what that jutsu is? It’s been mentioned enough times throughout Part 2, I really want to know what it is. It’s time we saw the fruits of Naruto’s years of training. I still think it possible it could be Hiraishin considering it says “perfect” not learn – just like Naruto used Sage Mode and his excessive chakra to perfect Rasengan – also remember Naruto has huge chakra reserves without the Kyuubi, most of which goes to keeping the Kyuubi at bay – meaning his father probably had massive amounts of chakra too, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if Naruto required some help from the Kyuubi to have enough chakra to perform the Hiraishin. But it could be something else even more awesome too!
And finally, KABUTO SUMMONED THE DEAD AKATSUKI MEMBERS!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! That does not bode well for Anko and company....or anyone else for that matter. At least, in a perverted way, Itachi is back....Still, really freakish. I think it would have been awesome if he had summoned them to fight Madara instead of join him though. Kabuto vs Madara would be epic. It took me a bit to realize that Hidan hadn’t been summoned...weird...I don’t think Hidan is alive since I’m pretty sure that he needs to complete those rituals in order to stay immortal and he can’t exactly do that underground, but I wonder why he is not there?
Predictions for next week: We still haven’t seen Yamato...where the hell is he? Still no Naruto/Hinata talk, hopefully this is coming. Maybe we will see some of the war planning session – why was Shikamaru called to the planning session, despite his father thinking he is too young? What exactly are they supposed to be planning? Who else is there besides the elders and the Naras? Hopefully more information about the seal and the key in the next chapter too, at least it being stored inside Naruto. And more Kabutoro and Madara – how will Madara react? Will he join forces with Kabuto – I think this likely, though Sasuke may object. I don’t think Sasuke and Kabuto ever really got along. Maybe Kabuto will try to kill Sasuke for killing Oro. In any case it will be another epic chapter. Anything could happen. There seems to be a new surprise every chapter!
