when obito and madara threw their TSB they return to them after that because they can't be far from the user like kakashi said so unless they were destroyed they should've returned to naruto by the time they defended him.

The potential of Bijuu PS is enormous. Kishi only able to used that new idea in very limited time because manga near the ending and chapters that left were 5 only.

He tried to wrote a believeable fighting plot, but I think he failed and I feel that Kishi original idea of that plot is different than actual plot we read. Maybe that is his editor idea not him.
