The magnetic field in the Bermuda triangle is messed up. As a result ships and planes loose all sense of direction and when that happens they're screwed. There are other places similar like the Bermuda triangle on the earth which have the exact same phenomenon: the magnetic field is messed up and ships/planes have been gone missing for centuries.
And I believe it will never succeed either.

im not a scientist but on december 12th, 2012 we will be in direct alignment with the galactic equator. We will pass over it. our poles might shift too. scary shit. we would experience eruptions, earthquakes, weather changes, and mass extinction

I, personally, don't think anything bad will happen in 2012. If I remember right, the big deal about 2012 is the Mayan calender ends. I remember hearing that the end of the calender does not signify the end of the universe, but the end of an era/cycle. Thus, I believe that either something tremendously good will happen, or nothing at all will happen, and the "clock" (such as the Jurassic and so on), will simply advance, moving us into a new "era."
