He was literally going to kill her before Kakashi saved her during the Kage Summit. The entire ss fandom should be thankful that Kakashi kept this pairing alive

When Sakura tries to stop him from leaving the village she describes rebuilding a new domestic world, a new home. He had not had a home to go to since his family had been killed, then he called her "annoying" now because she could work her way into his heart and see what he needed to be healed, but Sasuke knew that if he was healed through love that he couldn't go on with his revenge quest.

Of course Sasuke was in love with her, and even when he was enraged beyond belief and driven mad by truth she still reached out to him even as he tried to destroy all ties with the world that he had.

It was her constant forgiveness and love that gave Sasuke a way back to the type of love that builds a home and a family.

Sakura is a healer through and through, she heals wounds of the body and the spirit.

Of course when you're trying to drive people away and make them believe that you are something you aren't you will lie to them.

This was Sasuke's definition of a true hokage, someone who worked from the shadows for good but pretended to be evil.

Just like Itachi lied to Sasuke. Itachi wasn't an evil person, he was a good person, but he lied to Sasuke and told him that he was evil.

Sasuke did the same to Sakura, he lied to protect her from her own feelings, but also to protect himself from his own feelings.

He did the same with Naruto, hiding his feelings until the very end.

In the very first chapters Sakura expresses love for Sasuke and Hinata love for Naruto, those themes carried through the entire manga.

The boys had no idea about love and the girls knew exactly what the boys needed.

Naruto and Sasuke could defeat anyone in the world, except the women who chose them.

Sasuke is usually all talk. He did all that talking about how Sakura wasn't important to the fight vs Kaguya. Yet he catches her, and become concern when she almost attack by Kaguya. He could have switched places with Sakura or just let her fall.

When Naruto mentions protecting teammate because his body move on it's own, he stay quiet.

He might not have loved her, but he did look at Team 7 as family.
