Why is Lee and Gai's Taijutsu overrated?

Kakashi comfortably beats Lee and Gai 1v1 in Taijutsu.

It's actually shown in the Manga that Kakashi has fought against Gai multiple times.
And it's stated in the Kakashi Novel that Kakashi beat Lee at Taijutsu without Sharingan.

Lee and Gai are good, but aren't as good as you guys think.
Without Gates, Base Lee and Gai are pretty much below Kakashi level in Taijutsu... and there are a good number of Ninja who are above Kakashi in Taijutsu[SUB]

They didn't need a Taijutsu Master, they needed someone who was strong enough to hurt Madara. Guy needed to use 8 Gates to make that possible.[SUB]

the fact that it is a separate ''novel'' makes it extra-canonical literature.

just being parts of the same universe & timeline doesn't make two unrelated stories into one.

The canonical text of ''naruto'' is closed between 700 chapters. it has nothing to do w/ the ''kakashi'' canon.
The Toneri Movie is not canon, ...it is a movie.

Nah, it's from the Kakashi ANBU arc IIRC. I saw this scene and my first thought was that Obito is the coolest guy ever.
