I honestly don't even know what Kishimoto was going for with Salad. I can't tell if he was going for the Hinata + Sakura root in one character, or if he was trying to troll the entire fan-base by making the first Uchiha female wear glasses. Like what?

Unfortunately, there's a high chance that Sarada will turn into a pairing fodder based on what we know about Kishi's writing regarding the female cast. I knew this, and never denied it. I don't have any hopes for the upcoming series either way so you didn't make anything easier. Lol

I sometimes assume that he thought that he could satisfy the NaruSasu fanbase that were rooting for them to end up canonized by making their kids do it instead, it's seems likely given that both kids took after their respective fathers, and are paralleled to them more or less even in mannerism.
