Have any of you noticed that freshmen in high school look like 12 year olds? I don't believe my grade looked that young when we were in the 9th grade. Also, when we were in the 9th grade the 12 graders looked so mature yet even though I'm now in grade 12 my generation doesn't seem that old. A lot of other people pointed it out too. Is it just our perception of things or are the generations actually taking longer to develop?

The ones who are developing slower are men, because women are developing earlier than before. I read an article saying that our food and even some products we use daily are full of female hormones, such as estrogen, which slows men physical development. I find it very plausible.

Yeah, I haven't noticed it in girls too much so you could be right.

I think it is opposite - most kids I see try to dress and act like they are in their 20s, its annoying af

but yeah it is just your perception.
Acting is different then actually developing, they also might seem like their acting because they look so young.

The girls' menarche is happening earlier and earlier. And I've seen many 12 years old girls with the body fully developed, unlike the boys.

As a final year high school student, I actually feel the same way as you do about this. I guess we just had this false expectation of how we would look and be as seniors.
