Since when was Byakugan affected by light ?
Why wouldn't it be? It's just enhanced range of vision and enhanced peripheral vision. It's not like Byakugan users see in a spectrum of light that isn't optical lol
And what's to stop Hinata from closing her eyes before the bomb goes off?
Shikamaru approaches her from the back she turns around and he sets off the flashbang right in front of himself with his eyes closed while she gets the full brunt of it.
They just awakens their special visions and they are not affected. Pretty sure every Hyugas can look at the sun during a huge amount of time legit.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Can Byakugan look through solid objects? Yes. Can Byakugan look at chakra flow to distinguish clones? Yes. Does it have near 360 degree of vision and 50 m range? Yes. Other than that the Byakugan has no more abilities. Ergo, other than those abilities it's just a normal eye. Therefore if Hinata were to peer into the Sun's light with her Byakugan, she would most definitely go blind (like what happens when you look at the Sun without a filter with a telescope).

The **** are you talkin' about. Why would he be behind her suddenly ? :|. He can teleport ? Stop spitting $hit already
As I said already :
You're saying it's impossible for him to at some point be in a position where her back is momentarily turned so that he can jump towards her with a flashbang in his hand?
Special visions? Turning "on" the Byakugan with the abilities I've listed are the only "special visions" the Byakugan user gets. It's not like they're eye gets more durable unless you can prove me wrong.
Useless, if Shikamaru jumps towards her, that's suicide, the idea Shikamaru will get is to get him from atleast 10 meters since she is better at Taijutsu and a better CQC fighter. Also if he jumps towards her : One rotation and it's finished.
Yes, their visions are darker, when they want to see opponent's chakraYou must be registered for see links. She just choses to activate it and I suppose that she won't be affected by the light.
Also if he jumps towards her, what's will be his protection against it ? When you use a flashbang you need to throw it bruh' :|
You realize that's just the drawing artists way of depicting the glow of the chakra circulatory system and that the surrounding area isn't actually darker for them.
And since when does Hinata have rotation in canon? And proof you need to throw the flashbang and it's not a timed release like a frag grenade?
Hinata most definitely cannot do rotation. If she could she would've used it in canon.
Who said that ? Proof ?
That's logic that she can do a rotation, normally it's a technique used by the main branch, Neji, who isn't from the main branch can use it quite easily. That's ABC Logic.
@Bold And we were not talkin about it if it was timed-release or not. Even if it's timed-release, he needs to throw it or he will be affected too... :|
@Bold That's common sense. And even if you were right, just because they supposedly see in a darker shade when it's activated doesn't have an affect on the Sun's detrimental brightness at close range. I mean, it's bright AF.
And you can't just assume Hinata has those techniques. That's not how it works. It needs to be a jutsu used by her in canon (I admit to my dismay)
If Shikamaru plans on using a flashbang at close range, don't you think he'd close his eyes and find a way to plug his ears?
Why wouldn't it be? It's just enhanced range of vision and enhanced peripheral vision. It's not like Byakugan users see in a spectrum of light that isn't optical lol
Byakugan users, when their eyes are activated, I literally looking at the sun every damn second. So excuse me if I say a flash bomb isn't gonna do much.
Ok I'll agree with you on that point.
We can assume things however. Like saying EMS Sasuke can't use PS. But I'm not going to seart it out here...
And Hinata will do the same thing, no ?
