Is kindness weakness?

Yes and no. You can't show kindness to everyone as everyone will not show you the same kindness back. There are generous people in this world that like to give things or donations to people out of the kindness of their own hearts, so that can be a good thing for them, but it can also be a deception and a lie. If you show people that you like to help people out of the kindness in your heart then you are inviting more and more Gold-Diggers to become your friends and that will allow them to use you for only your things.
When you invite people into your realm of kindness then you also invite them into the opportunity of taking advantage of you, and that can lead to them being in control, which will give them power. Friendship can be one of the most deceptive lies in the world and it can also lead to false lies and hurt feelings in the end. Manipulation is one of the biggest factors in being kind and that is why I don't show it to everyone that I meet. Kindness should only be shown to those who deserve it, not those who want it. If you show confidence and aggressiveness then that will allow people to see you as more than just a tool and that will make people not step on you. Although this will not always work, but being in control of the situation and not showing people your tenderness or way of compassion is a step forward.
Being kind to everyone that you meet will not always turn out the way that you would expect. Some people can be an ass, so if you try to invite an ass into your life then he/she will most likely use you for his/her own personal wishes.
Showing kindness is a weakness to those who can't stand up for themselves.
The only good thing about being kind is that you are staying true to yourself, but in the end humans can be selfish beings who don't give a damn about your kindness.

I believe humans should always strive for kindness even if its difficult to show it to other people under certain circumstances. Positive emotions should always be pursued over negative ones like rage and revenge. However, kindness should not cloud your logical judgement, and you should be able to sacrifice your kindness if its for a greater purpose.
Treat others fairly, give people chances, try not to judge. Save things like kindness and love for those who matter or those that prove worthy of it.

nicely said....but we should prefer kindness first instead of using other means....
Its a pretty big weakness yes in a greater view of things, those who forsake kindness and empathy towards human beings, are those that truly see and understand humanity and what would be most advantageous and disadvantageous. However thats at a larger level on an individual level showing one act of kindness here and there isn't too bad

Kindness is the ultimate strength. The only problem is people have to believe this for it to be true. But they don't, so it's not. Instead people cave in to fear, so power is stronger. But if people just tried to believe in kindness and understanding, then the world would be far better off for everyone.

I think that at some point people will start to feel guilty for taking advantage of you. If you continue to show them how much you really care about them, it will gradually weigh on their conscience. You just have to not care what happens to you.
I don't care if I win or lose a one-on-one encounter. What matters is all the people who witness it. If people see someone become frustrated and kill their "opponent" upon realizing that they are wrong, how will the witnesses react? Will they agree with the person who was too stubborn to admit to being incorrect? Or will they realize that one man can't kill everyone and carry on the ideals of the person who was right?

Kindness and compassion may not be the easiest things to practice, but because we live in the kind of world we do, it is all the more reason why we must cultivate and express it. I do not think it should be mistaken for weakness.

No. It can be used to make friends and help others, and other times it is used to manipulate. But after the latter happens, it is not kindness, and is thus made faux. Benevolence is something that many people do not have in the world we live in today, and thus people do not usually know if they are being deceived by someone who is maintaining a façade. Though, kindness is genuine more often than not among those who show it.
It is more a strength than weakness, though still not exactly a strength, that people can either use for good or bad. While it is true that people that are kind sometimes get taken advantage of, kindness is still something good to have. It shows people that you are gentle and loyal, not some other two-faced individual that preys on others.

2. It creates a strong network of friends and allies; it's a joke to think that humans can effectively be loners. Even a hermit's identity is dependent on others.
3. It creates good karma, which helps make life better. If you don't believe me, try being super nice to everyone at school, work, or at a store. It will make your day more pleasant.
4. Being a selfish jerk physically ages you, it creates more stress which damages your body's ability to heal wounds and slows cell replication.
Edit: Maybe you're thinking of Co-Dependency as a weakness, not being kind. Just because you are a kind does not mean that people bend you to their will.
