No. It can be used to make friends and help others, and other times it is used to manipulate. But after the latter happens, it is not kindness, and is thus made faux. Benevolence is something that many people do not have in the world we live in today, and thus people do not usually know if they are being deceived by someone who is maintaining a façade. Though, kindness is genuine more often than not among those who show it.
It is more a strength than weakness, though still not exactly a strength, that people can either use for good or bad. While it is true that people that are kind sometimes get taken advantage of, kindness is still something good to have. It shows people that you are gentle and loyal, not some other two-faced individual that preys on others.
