Why Orochimaru can't beat Itachi

That was more like a scuffle not a real fight.Oro didn't even use his full powers because he was after his eyes.All things considered it's hard to say who would win in a real fight.Could go either way

I know the whole totsuka blitz GG, I've seen my fair share of its use, but I was just making an accurate statement in my original post Lol.

Orochimaru without Edo Tensei has counters to all of Itachi's abilities, and is more than capable of delivering the finishing blow as well. Would he win for sure? Can't say, but it would be a close fight.

Why there are people questioning this? Itachi already soloed Orochimaru two times with just a blink, that's mangafact.

The first time Orochimaru was dying and was only trying to get Itachi's eyes.

The second time Orochimaru was an armless disembodied spirit stuck to a growth on Sasuke's neck and used all his chakra to manifest himself with his hydra jutsu.

Orochimaru with ET beats Itachi, that much is obvious, but on his own it's a stomp, like it always has been. Orochimaru and Itachi are sort of meant to represent Yamato no Orochi and Susanoo respectively, and Orochimaru's defeat at Itachi's hands directly parallels the god Susanoo defeating the enormous serpent Yamata no Orochi. The battle was pretty much recreated with Orochimaru's Orochi jutsu vs Itachi's Susanoo...

That aside, it's been made painstakingly obvious that Itachi is stronger than Orochimaru.
