If I remember correctly Sasuke got near perfect scores on everything except teamwork (F) it's definitely weird that Sasuke was the one to first initiate Team 7's teamwork :|

I'm not sure if this is cannon since Sasuke was called the number one rookie in the manga. And the manga is more cannon then the fanbooks and databooks.

The Naruto fanbook years ago said Ino had highest overall grades but if this is true then why wasn't Ino called the number one rookie?

When something in the fanbooks, novels or databooks contradicts the manga we don't see it as cannon.

Everyone said Sasuke was number one rookie so its not like Ino decided to give her spot as number one rookie to Sasuke in the manga.

I just edited wiki by adding: It's unclear if this is true because in chapter 3, Iruka says Sasuke's grades were 1st among all 27 graduates.

This means that the fanbook is saying something different then the manga. Its goes something like this like this:

Manga > databook > fanbook > anime?

So I just go with what the manga says unless Kishimoto says otherwise.
