Amaterasu is not instant
Lets take a fraction like 1/1000.
1/1000 = 0.001
Now when that number at the bottom (1000) gets enormous, near, or tending to infinity, that fraction is basically going to become 0. So for our fraction we have time equals distance over speed. When someone claims Amaterasu is instant, they are claiming that it has a infinite speed, theres no speed at all, it just appears there.
No matter what the distance is, in math, anything divided by infinity equals zero because infinity is monstrous compared to any normal number we can come up with. So if distance over speed equals zero then it means time equals zero and that means you have literally zero time to dodge.
Now we all know Ay dodged Amaterasu but the only way possible for Ay to have dodged Amaterasu is if its speed is not infinite, which means Amaterasu is not instant. I use to think Ays reflexes were just that damn good but if the move was instant it would still be impossible for him to dodge since the time available to react is zero. So to conclude, Amaterasu has a finite speed and that means theres always something that can be faster than it.
