He would have won. In general There is nothing that naruto did that Jiraya wouldn't have been able to do in a more effecient manner. Even when Naruto was clobbering Deva path he wasn't accomplishing a ton until he made a decisive strike at the end, which I believe Jiraya would have done. His Rasengan was much more devastating than Naruto's really until Naruto gained his kyuubi cloak

I'd like to think Jiraiya could have beaten him. He has a good few elements and probably jutsu we didn't get to see. All it took Naruto to defeat deva path in the end was some clones, a rasengan and timing. If intel includes that then yeahhh. Jiraiya was pretty clever from what I remember. If frog song doesn't get all of the paths, I could imagine him using the underground grabbing their foot and bringing them under thing, on deva even

He kept three back because he was wary of Jiraiya's skills and himself conceded that if Jiraiya knew the secret from the start, the paths would have been finished.

Im the biggest jiraiya fan but how does jiraiya beat deva path? If deva were there from the start, i cant think of a tech that jiraiya couldve used to counter it.

Obv, jiraiya could match the summons, he could taijutsu the absorbing path, he can beat the shared vision of the paths, etc.

But how does he handle deva? Naruto got lucky since deva had just used his power right before the battle.

Just to remind all of you here that Jiraiya choice to die for the sake of village and his student. The old frog already said that they can escape together, since there is no way for nagato to detect Jiraiya.
It doesnt matter if it 6 or 7 fighting him at one. Cause Jiraiya fighting style is suite for combat like this, just because they keep the secret from him, even so they still can not kill him.

Im pretty sure Jiraya could find there is a small fragment of time that there is a lapse where he can't use push or pull and capitalize on it. Not only that but he has some epic scale jutsu that could cause distractions that Naruto couldn't hope to pull off. I think tactfully he could create the same situation Naruto did when he used the Rasengan against Pain and defeat him. Even though Naruto was better at sage mode naturally at that point he still had not surpassed Jiraya in combat skills, ultimately.

People keep spitting chibaku this and shinra that, deva part would never have used those techniques in their given battle location ie amegakure. So duh? With out those, pretty much sure sage mode jaraira can take very good care of him

^^^^ nagato's paths, would he have beaten him?

He killed a total of 4 Paths in a fight where he had to figure out their abilities and Nagato himself said Jiraiya might of won if he knew the secret at the get go. Meaning he would go for Nagato's body and probably use shadow clone to distract, added with Ma's dust cloud, and a Chou Oodama rasengan (as a distraction from another clone) then frog song Nagato which leaves him open for a killing blow (Jiraiya killed 3 Paths by the use of distraction, shadow clones, frog song, and killing blows).

Just read the manga, Nagato says himself that he got lucky, "If Sensei had known our secret we would have lost".
With intel Jiraiya would have gone straight to the tower where Nagato was attached to his machine and totaly blitzed him with Genjutsu, all toads, Sage Mode etc etc etc. Nagato stands no chance.

NOW, with that being said, this is a sick Nagato, a healthy Nagato, the one that stomped Hanzo would destroy most people in NV, including Jiraiya.

I think Jiraiya would have won had he figured it out sooner. Nagato's advantage was that he knew many of the tricks Jiraiya had up his sleeve because of the 3 years he spent with them. Jiraiya was smarter and had more battle experience, even so I think he would have only just pulled out a victory. Obviously if Naruto could do it so could Jiraiya, who was much more intelligent.

I don't think so. The black rods would've stopped jiraiya just like they stopped hashirama and tobirama. Naruto only survived the black rods because of the enhancement of sage mode with kyuubi mode. Jiraiya couldn't have done that. The kyuubi was key to defeating nagato.

Jiraiya could probably beat the 6 paths of pain but not nagato himself.
