[Discussion] Existence of a God.

From what I see people usually think that a God exists. What I don't understand is why ? The concept of God has never been proven with proof. It's a belief. Belief - confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof:faith. People usually think that since Science doesn't have the answers to everything,then God did it which is The God of Gaps argument,since we don't know why or how something happens whether it be the creation of the universe or morality it must've been God which doesn't make much sense when you really think about it. That's what religion does it doesn't change it's stance and think it's infallible. Unlike Science which has admitted many occasion where it's been wrong.

How can one prove a God exists ? It's something man made it's a primitive concept,it's never been proven it's just a belief it's not anything factual why can't people understand this.

The real question is why people feel the need to questions others' beliefs. It's one thing to say "Do you believe in God and why?" in your thread and then cite why you don't believe in God, which is that there's no proof, but you're basically making a thread that alienates those that believe in God, this is a thread for people who don't believe in God to just get together and bash those who do. It's not the way to go about this.

Why would they bash just explain their points and reasons why. Aren't we civilized enough to do this ?

Not all just very few people understand this. This is why I made this thread I want to know why they believe in a God if there isn't any proof.

Theists normally believe that there is a purpose in life while atheists believe there is not. Both different beliefs and neither of them can prove it.

At bold, it doesn't mean God exists either. It's like I'm saying that the core of Jupiter is filled with sharingans. You can't disprove me. Unless theists show a valid argument and have evidence it's considered invalid.

People need to believe in something greater, it's part of human nature. The myths aren't just about believing in an old man sitting between clouds, it's about creating ethics and a moral to each society. And I don't think that science contradicts "God". My conception about it is that God is the force behind natural phenomena, not an old man sitting in the clouds, so in my opinion science proves somehow the existence of a greater force. I don't believe that everything just "happens" because of nothing.

This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. I like reading everyone's opinion on the matter, though, and I hope this discussion goes on.

This. Why question others beliefs? Just let them be them. You gotta live life knowing that you have an opinion that can't be duplicated in the exact same way. No one believes in something the same way another does. This is even true with stone facts, such as there are people who still believe the world is flat...when it's not.

Theists have a hard time believing that everything happened by chance and believe there is a reason we are here. That reason varies through religion/belief.

Riker Slade is right about how you can't prove something doesn't exist though. I don't know... some people just have a sense of spirituality while others do not I guess. I just don't see why it matters to others whether somebody believes in something or not.

@red : No one "needs" to believe in a higher in a higher power Lol No it's not a part of nature it's something that is learned not ingrained to someone's brain.

@bold : Humans choose what morality not s God. People tend to get confused by this.
