I was always impressed by the fact that Itachi inherited Hashirama's Will of Fire and the overall concept of empathy for the fellow villagers. To me, it proved that Indra and Ashura weren't the definite characterizations their descendants would take. It wasn't set in stone. It was just by a chance that Indra and Ashura took the paths they took. It could've been vice versa.
I just wish that Kishimoto depicted a Senju who inherited Indra's will and that way prove that genes can play tricks. In that regard, I'd say Sasuke inherited a little bit of both since he was susceptible to Naruto's talk no jutsu in the end. It's as if Hagoromo's sons were literally split into good and evil which later by generations watered down either way. Sometimes, Ashura's will would reach an Uchiha and Indra's will would reach a Senjuu.
