And this is exactly what I meant. American arrogance is hilarious. You're not obliged to jump into conflict if it doesn't inherently involve you. Yes, if Canada or Mexico were to have problems that were militaristic, then America is obliged because of NATO, but please, don't pull that card. It doesn't apply here.
It always involves us. Not just America, but everyone. What's a country? That's just a label people affiliate themselves with to feel like they belong to something. And that sense of belonging is what breeds the desire to kill people whom we perceive as threats to our precious labels. Ultimately, it all comes back to fear of loneliness/uselessness/purposelessness.
