I've just finished watching the last so the great Kakooli thought he'd be generous enough to share his thoughts on the movie and hopefully put you off watching it in the near future. I'll try to keep things brief (no I won't, this will be long as hell so don't read it)

Pros:

-The kids at the start call Hinata an "ugly monster" because of her freaky eyes. I thought that was pretty funny and accurate, to boot.

-Sakura. She really shone in this movie, we find out that she is naturally resistant to genjutsu. She seemed like a good friend to both Hinata and Naruto and if it wasn't for her, Hinata would be Toneri's *** slave. Naruto was straight up gonna abandon her until Sakura shannarooed some sense into him.

-Sasuke's appearance. His little moment was the only interesting thing that happened in this entire movie, his 30 seconds>Naruto's 85 minutes. I like how he's still as blunt as ever, saying right in front of Kakashi that only he's capable of protecting the village when Naruto's not here.

Cons:

- Hinata. She comes across as extremely needy in this movie, lacks the required charisma of a female lead and well...she didn't really do much other than blab on about her Naruto Kun or play the role of Toneri's battered wife. Her fighting ability (or lack of it) was prevalent yet again, at best she was a chakra battery. The kind of chakra battery that only ever has one use. Ever.

-The final fight was underwhelming.

-Only 30 seconds of Sasuke. I know he would have solo'd Toneri on the spot and that's why he was reduced to having such a small amount of screentime but still.

-The people in the audience were laughing at things that weren't jokes. When Toneri got his eyes ripped out there was giggling.

Final rating: 2.5 out of 13 Kakooli stars.
Conclusion: Slow paced, cheesy, too much Hinata, sucky final fight. I reported the person who videotaped the movie in the theatre to the fbi as well.

That is all.

Ok, I'll just file this under my "Useless opinions no-one cares about" Tab on my favourites.

Seriously why the hell is everyone providing their review on the movie? I can guarantee no-one cares what you thought about it and you're only wasting you're and everyone else's time.

The movie was overall lackluster. Although sakura showed to be a good friend to hinata, while Hinata was basically a damsel in distress the entire movie. On a side note, the movie emphasized how stupid Naruto is/was, after 2 years after hinata said she loved him, Naruto still thinks it isn't romantic... I have no comment.

Thank Kishimoto for that and scarf kun. Hinata did about all she could do in that situation. Toneri is apparently on par with rinnegan Madara, what is she realistically going to do? I'm more concerned with how weak Naruto looked against him, even though he stayed in base mode until the end.

Yeah I'm going with Naruto is an idiot for no manga skills used. Want to say the movie people didn't want to spoil anime only viewers but they showed a glance of sasuke's rinnegan, Kakashi's eye, and I believe kaguya in the beginning.

Honestly I couldn't expect hinata to fight Toneri on equal grounds but she didn't have to be the damsel the entire movie.

Don't remember her really being a damsel except for the chase scene and at the end when she gets put into that cage thing. If you consider her being made into a puppet as being a damsel then that too, but I don't considering she was at least putting solid effort into stopping the moon and got caught red handed and overwhelmed.

Also, they really only had Kishimotos sketches to go on regarding what powers Sasuke, Kakashi etc had. I think they just didn't know what Naruto would look like in RSM so couldn't animate it by the time the film was being produced.

True hinata did legitimately try to prevent Toneri's plan, and majority of her damsel-ness could be for Naruto could save her (the movie was about love, although I had higher expectations for hinata. Already broke my first rule of movie watching; come in with little expectations).

Overall the movie was funny and I liked some of the character portrayals, especially Hanabi and Sakura (more so Hanabi since we get so little of her). My biggest issue is how the manga and the movie seem slightly disjointed.

I didn't know they only had his sketches when making the movie. That could be a reason why stuff from the manga was missing, since no one used manga moves I believe. Although it was weird how rasengan is blue, while rasenshuriken is yellow Lol

That's just my assumption about the sketches, mind you, but Sasuke has his rinnegan and Kakashi has no Sharingan in the sketches that were released. Also the fact that 615 was left out of the movie but was in the novel leads me to believe they started working on the movie way too early.

2.5 out of 13?

What's your favorite movie?

P.S. Sai was classy as **** the entire movie.

"I was having a fun dream with my brother. Thank you for breaking that up"

"That doesn't sound like gratitude.."

Yeah I was wondering why that wasn't featured either, especially after so many part 1 flashbacks. They may not have shown neji because he wasn't in the sketches Lol

Regardless of the circumstances, something went wrong. If Kishimoto was going to insist that this movie was canon to his storyline, he should have given them an extensive rundown of what was going to happen besides Naruto and Sasuke blowing each others arms off. Just seems to me like there was a severe lack of communication on both ends and the movie seems slightly disjointed to the manga as a result.

I agree completely. Something went awry because the movie doesn't seem to completely connect to the manga.

Ah well, hopefully the directors cut will fix some issues. From what I've heard the novel does a much better job of explaining certain aspects, and covering up some plotholes.
