What do you know about water in real life?

Water is an essential element for all living things, something I rarely consume.
It takes the shape of its container and flows freely. Water is a passive element;it just flows through whoever way it is guided. For example, if there is a rock in the way, instead of cutting through it, the water will make its way around it and continue on its journey.

Water exists in solid, liquid and gas states. In its liquid state, it is more dense than when it is in it's solid state. This is because water particles are closer together in liquid state and further apart in solid state. The water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The oxygen atom is slightly negatively charged whilst the hydrogen atoms are slightly positively charged. This is due to their different electronegativities.

Water is cohesive. This means that the molecules of water stick to each other. This is due to the strong covalent bonds between them. Water is also an excellent medium to dissolve substances with due to its polarity. It can dissolve salts, and can conduct electricity. It also has the ability to absorb heat. This is the reason why oceans are cooler places. Water can travel very fast with enough force.

Water is one of the five basic elements that can be manipulated with the use of chakra. It is a very versatile element which can be made into any shape.
Water can be a very powerful attack if enough force and chakra is given. Chakra must be gathered to use water techniques. It can be expelled out through the mouth.

Water is strong against fire. This is because it can extinguish the flames of the fire.
It is weak against Earth since Earth can make a barrier to block Water. This, no water can get past.

Katon- Suiton overpowers it by extinguishing its flames. When water comes into contact with the fire, the fire loses its warmth, therefore, the flames are unable to be sustained any longer, causing it to die.

Futon- Suiton and Futon go well with each other. Together, the wind can make the water sharper and faster. They are both also very versatile.

Lightning- Water also works well with Lightning. Because of the electrical charge on the water, when Lightning is mixed with it, it creates an electrical current, which could be deadly.

Earth- Water is weak to Earth. This is because Earth is solid, it can block the water. If Earth blocks a water based attack, the water will simply just go around it. It will not be able to cut through unless it is very powerful.

Not exactly what I was asking but this is very good. Good that you understand combos and such, nice job. And I agree, I need to find a good way to word that question. I will just explain what I meant to avoid confusion.

Elemental Weaknesses and Strengths in the basic 5 elements work in a system where the element that has an elemental strength has a one rank advantage. What I mean is this.

If I shoot an A-Rank fireball at you, you only need to use a B-Rank Water jutsu to cancel it out.

Or let's say I shoot an A-Rank fireball at you, and you use an A-Rank Water jutsu. Your water will hit my fire and your water will cancel out the fire and continue as a B-Rank. Make sense?

Okay so now mini quiz. If you use a b-rank water jutsu, what rank earth jutsu would I need to just cancel out your water?

I see, so for an element that is stronger than another, you can use a rank lower to cancel out the weaker element.

Okay, you would need a C-rank Earth Jutsu to just cancel out my B-rank Water Jutsu. This is because Earth is stronger than Water so it can use a lower rank and still cancel Water out.

Exactly good job. Also just to clarify how it works when they collide as equal rank. Let's say A-Rank fire vs A-Rank water, it drops a single rank. So the Water would continue as a B-Rank.

I find simply performing the technique to not be very helpful so I will also ask for strengths and weaknesses too. In character for each jutsu, perform it and then then try to give two strengths and two weaknesses. Though first we need to meet each other, I will be using Rogue in my signature.

Tiashe hears a thud some distance away from. He quickly looked, and saw that it was just someone jumping out from a tree. He assumed it was his teacher. After being introduced to Rogue, Tiashe answered coolly but with respect.

That would be true. I am Tiashe Raggs.

He then saw a cat trying to get down the tree and asking Rogue for help. Rogue went to help him down, then introduced the cat to Tiashe.

Tiashe just nodded his head once in response to acknowledge the cat before turning back to Rogue.

 

[Wind..]

"Nice to meet you Tiashe. Let's begin training now. Whenever you are ready. For this first one, you can form water into what you would like. You can create waves, blasts, as well as shields of water. First try creating a wave of water using the pond over there and then expel a small amount of water from your mouth and create a shield in front of you. And of course for each jutsu, give me the strengths and weaknesses."

After listening to the instructions, Tiashe moves closer to the water source and turned his body towards it. Closing his eyes, he summoned within him the necessary Chakra to manipulate the Water. However, he could not maintain this Chakra inside him so the technique did not work. He tried again, this time he could maintain it long enough inside him to make Water Chakra. But again, it fell away too fast. After a couple more tries, the Water Chakra managed to take shape and, holding his hand out next to the water, Tiashe managed to make a small wave in the water. A few tries later, he was making large waves.

Next, Tiashe gathered chakra up again. This time, it was to be released form his mouth as Water. After three tries, the water came out of his mouth, creating a shield in front of him. Then, at the same time, Tiashe formed a wave to come to him, but quickly made a shield to block it. He didn't block it in time, leaving him wet. After a few tries though, he managed it.

He then turned to Rogue, waiting for his teachers approval/disapproval.

Strengths of this Jutsu:

1- It requires very little Chakra.
2- Doesn't require a water source.

Weaknesses of this Jutsu:

1- It causes very little damage.
2- Can not be used for long range.

"Great job. Persistence is key during training!"

"Fro thinks so, too!"

"Now for this next one, please use either the pond or your mouth to create a thick mist and hide yourself within it. Don't let me see you. Also change the thickness of the mist using your chakra control."

(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu

Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

Thank you Rogue, and you too Fro. Alright, I will do my best.

Tiashe stood a little distance away from Rogue and Fro, and started gathering up chakra. He decided to make the mist thicker in front of him where he could be seen by Rogue and make it thinner behind him where Rogue could not see him anyway. To make the mist thick, Tiashe kneaded a bigger amount of chakra. It came out of his mouth as a thick mist which he blew around the sides and front of his body. Then, lessening the use of chakra, Tiashe blew the mist behind him. When he was done, he couldn't see Rogue nor Fro anymore.

Strengths of this Jutsu:

1- Requires very little chakra.
2- Is easy to perform.

Weaknesses of this Jutsu:

1- Does not cause much damage.
2- Is ineffective against users of the Byakugan.

 

[Wind..]

"Very nice job. You have successfully hidden yourself from me."

"Ahhhh! Where did he go!? The mist ate him!!"

*Frosch begins to run in circles screaming. Rogue then grabs his head to stop him and turns him towards the mist once more.*

"Tiashe has just created a mist to hide from us. He is fine. Watch as the mist disappears, your friend will return. Now, next I would like you to create a sword out of water. Then walk over there and slice one of those flowers with it."

"Ohhh, okay. Fro is okay again."

(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining

Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

From somewhere in front of him, Tiashe could hear Rogue confirming that he had displayed the technique correctly. He could also hear Frosch starting to panick. But due to his quiet and detached demanour, Tiashe made no attempts to let Frosch know where he was, so he was grateful when Rogue did so instead.

Tiashe listened carefully to his Senpai's instructions, and as the mist disappeared, he proceeded to do so. Closing his eyes, he summoned withinh himself chakra to make water. It came forth, and opening his eyes again, Tiashe held out his right arm out slightly. He concentrated the chakra there, and it came out in a fast gush. But it did not take shape. Tiashe realized he had put too much chakra and force into it. He tried again, this time using the correct amount of chakra and force, and managed to shape the water into a sword as it came out from his hand. He was pleased that he was getting better at controlling his Chakra now.

Maintaining the sword in his hand with some difficulty, he managed to walk with it to one of the bushes nearby, which contained pretty white flowers. It reminded him of his childhood, and so was reluctant to cut such a beautiful thing. The flower came off very cleanly as the water cut through it. He was surprised, but did not show it. The flower fell to the flower, and rather than letting it stay there, Tiashe gently picked it up and placed it inside his pocket, before walking back to Rogue for further instructions.

*Rogue hears his student ask him a question in a calm voice.*

"Yes, very well done. Great shape to it. For this next one, very much like the last, you will be creating a shield. Concentrate on the shape and feel of a shield and use your Suiton Chakra to create one."
