I haven't watched the movie yet, and I've yet to see the Hamura scene, nor do I know why Toneri even wanted to marry Hinata nor what the connection is between Hinata and the Ootsutsuki clan.

almost finished the movie and Hinata have Hamura chakra for sure and chakra can be passed via dna like i've always said.
when Hinata met Hamura's ghost it probably simply allowed her to use her inheritance because unlike Naruto and Sasuke, she's a direct descendant of Hamura thx to the Hyuuga eugenics rules and not a reincarnation which is a soul whom simply moved from a dead body to another new alive one.
Hamura didn't reincarnated at the time of the movie or his ghost couldn't have appeared to Hinata to spoke to her in person Lol
3 scenes confirmed it imo, you are free to think something else but sorry it's only logic:
first one: with Toneri explaining to her who are their common ancestor aka Hamura, the story of his clan (they share the same habits, a main branch and a 2nd branch, Toneri is from the second branch not the main like Hamura and his direct descendants) etc
second one: Hinata met an old ghost whom vomit a violet energy bubble which react with her byakugan showing her stuff in some sort of genjutsu interactive scene => she met Hamura himself and all his people whom went to the Moon and he confirmed what Toneri said to her previously.
he also called her byakugan princess, which imo is just the title given to the heir/heiress of the entire clan + he explains how both clans (the Earth one aka the Hyuuga and the Moon one aka the Ootsutsuki are similar) are linked to him and of course what happened to the main branch from the Moon.
third one: when she tried to destroy the Tenseigan altar, she explained to Naruto that he cannot do anything because it will suck all his chakra and that this crap was cursed by Hamura himself so no one can destroy it except his descendants like Hamura told her because his dna react to it!!!
and the ultimate logical proof =>
Naruto told her to infuse him with her chakra so he can touch it too and to combine their attack to break the Tenseigan altar.
so it's pretty clear the Hyuuga are direct descendants from Hamura whom stayed on Earth on purpose.
that's why they inherited and kept the byakugan, imo it was a promise they probably made to Hamura before he left with the rest of the clan to the Moon, only the ones whom didn't move to the Moon with him changed their name maybe for safety purpose.
chakra obviously can be transmitted via dna!!
if it was not the case, sorry but sharing her chakra with Naruto would have done nothing more for him and especially not changed his dna to transform him into a direct Hamura's descendant capable to touch the cursed Tenseigan's altar =D

i'm pretty sure that the cage bird seal was made by the Uzumaki clan for the Hyuuga to use it on their 2nd branch people after they were informed about what happened to the main branch in the Moon.
the movie made it totally clear that Toneri and his clan were always in contact with their relatives the Hyuuga on Earth!!!
when Toneri and Hiashi met, it was to fulfill the deal their clans made a long time ago for sure, which is to give the heir/heiress of their clan to the other one.
apparently not only for marriage but also for the byakugan since all the people from the Moon put their eyes into the altar and Toneri wanted more than just Hanabi's eyes, he wanted the heiress to restart everything after destroying the Earth and Moon (the Tenseigan altar was supposed to protect both of them during this process).
another detail i've noticed, the 2 clans from the Moon didn't share the same symbol/crest at all, we can see it clearly when the ghost and Hamura himself shown the war between the 2 branches of the Moon clan to Hinata.
the main branch symbol look like a sun with rays or some sort of weird giant eye (the Tenseigan eye pattern look a lot like this too).
maybe that's why the Hyuuga are always linked to the Sun (surname and names, symbols like the burning flamme for the Hyuuga family etc), that's my opinion, the Sun is the symbol of the main branch for both the Moon and Earth clans...
the 2nd branch symbol use the symbol on Toneri's outfit, the crescent moon around a tiny planet.
in fact the 2nd branch symbol contains the Ootsutsuki royal tomb where Hamura's corpse is.
the puppet lady following them explained to Hinata that it was put here for all the non royal to worship and pay respect to Hamura.
the floating island pass near the castle only once a year apparently creating the giant version of the symbol used by the 2nd branch which is the tiny planet in the center of the symbol and the crescent moon around it was probably the vestige of the previous moon before Kaguya's was sealed creating the actual one?
