Why shipping is so serious business in Naruto?

No, honestly, how could it be that readers are care more about for pairings in Naruto than anything else, despite Naruto was never a romance manga?

If Naruto would be a romance manga, then okay, BUT Naruto was a long running shonen fight manga, written for boys, not a romance one, hell, not even a harem nor an ecchi!

Yet, people only care and ranting about NS/NH/SS/SK and other shippings only, like if the manga was about whom will Naruto **** in the end and not about fights, friendship, story ect!

Yes, I know that this shipping mysery infected all today long running shonen mangas (see Fairy Tail) and the only exceptions are Bleach and One Piece, but even at Bleach all they are care about is shipping!

In old long running shonen mangas like Hokuto No Ken, Kinnikuman and Dragon Ball, shipping and pairing were only for fanservice and jokes, nobody took them seriously (specialy the Dragon Ball and Kinnikuman ones). But the same goes to One Piece, but One Piece is the only exception!

WHY or WHEN DID SHIPPIG BECAME SO IMPORTANT IN LONG RUNNING SHONEN MANGAS THAN ANYTHING ELSE?!?

Eh Only a small group cars for pairing itself. Half of them are just fantasizing about an overpowered baby they are expecting their favourite male to have. Rest are just excuses.

( Evidence are all those threads where people argue about inherited powers of the babies which could be..And People wanting Sasuke to go with Hinata or Karin because of their abilities gotten though their bloodline. they are already arguing over theories, as stupid as it is about the powers of the kids).

OP is kind of exception because their main power doesn't come from the heritage but eating fruit which cannot be passed on to kids via DNA. There aren't many girls around with a middle name D. to wonder if a combo of D and Zoro would be badass or not. Not that it has completely stopped pairing but yea it negated one big pull. On top of it romance is directly mocked and used for gag as a theme. The girls make most cliche teen manga style proposals and guys dump them immediately. That's rather a proactive policy against pairing along with adding comedy. -_^

Well yeah but most of the people actually like little romance with alot of action type of anime therefore shonen is their only choice , and let's not forget that kishi is the one who started this shit ,he made the main female character fall in love with the second main(sasuke) and then let naruto have a crush on here and all that was in part 1 so yeah he kinda milked it Lol

I Personally don't care,i just wanted kishi to fouces on the side characters and give them some screentime which he obviously didn't
