Did Hashirama died of the same disease as Itachi?

I mean if you think about it, in the manga it was stated that Hashirama died of young age, could it be the same disease Itachi had? because I'm pretty sure nobody could fight against Hashirama at that time maybe expect the 3rd raikage.

We really don't have any idea how Hashirama died. I always liked the explanation that the use of his healing power over time, just like Tsunade's Byakugou, shortened his lifespan considerably.

Hashi must have died at a much older age than Itachi, since he remembers Tsunade, his granddaughter, picking up his gambling habit. Hashi must have been at least 45-50.

Others have theorized that he overused his regeneration jutsu, resulting in a shortened life.

Hashirama died in the first shinobi war. He wasn't that young either. He was at least mid to late 30s when he and Madara found the village. Someone killed him. Thats how he died.
