Could minato have made a difference?

If Minato had not died sealing the nine tails into Naruto could he have made major story line changes just by being alive? Let's say the third sealed the nine tails instead with the same jutsu.

The Uchiha clan massacre would still happen in my opinion, it was all danzo in the first place and even with minato there to tell them what happened even Minato did not know who the masked man was it could have been any Uchiha not just Madara if anything telling them a masked man with a sharingan did it would make them suspect the Uchiha more.

Naruto probably wouldn't be a loser his father could train him in sage mode rasengan and shadow clones before he even graduates but I still think he'd want to become Hokage for the same reason konohamaru did. Naruto would also still be hated as the nine tails host the only difference is he has his father there this time, which helps but not by too much, minato is busy being Hokage remember.

Minato wouldn't have died fighting orichimaru if he had too he could teloport out of that barrier and he's much younger then Hiruzen so he'd likely old orichimaru off until Naruto beat garra at which point their plan failed. and even if Minato had to use the reaper seal he'd pull out the whole soul and end orichimaru there. If Orichimaru used edo tenseis Minato as that contract seal that he used on tobi to remove his control over the nine tails Minato could do the same to orichimaru.

Part 1 would keep going the same course

Most of part 2 would remain the same up until the pain arc I think Minato could fight off pain for awhile and not go into a coma.

The summit would be peaceful as danzos not there Sasuke would attack the leaf instead and still kill Danzo before being chased out by Naruto. But tobi would still declare war.

The war would be the same until Madara showed up I think Minato with the help of the other kages could seal Madara with his reaper death seal...before Madara breaks back out not sure if he could but let's say he can for plot purposes since he stopped himself from being released from edo tensei he likely could stop himself from being sealed with the reaper seal.

and the series loses Minato so when orichimaru revives the 1st-3rd (likely that he thinks Minatos still alive so he wouldn't think to revive him) they're relying on Tobirama to teleport them from the tailed beast bombs. But when narutos tailed beast is extracted theres no second kurama unless the 3rd sealed the ninetails in naruto the same way that minato did let's say he did Naruto would be revived and the story finishes the same way.


Would the story have been better if it had Minato alive in it? It'd be mostly the same really. So it's better that he died at the end of the day. Minato could get his last good bye in when hagoromo brings all the dead kage to summon Naruto and team 7 back.

edit: Oh but wait if Minato dies like I described here he can't stop kakashi from killing obito thus madara can't be revived and Naruto never comes close to dying, the result is a slightly weaker Naruto and the infinite tsykuomi never happens

SO Naruto would have won his battles much easier he might have even beaten Sasuke but then again if Naruto was getting that good Sasuke likely stepped up his game in this hypothetical scenario and been somewhat better too maybe having to utilize his curse mark more in their fight.

there's no "Sasuke stepping his game up" because Sasuke was already Leaf's top Genin and even current Naruto was at his level. if naruto would of had his dad around, he would of been even better and Sasuke would of been devoted to surpass him

I don't think Minato being alive would have changed anything. He obviously didn't do anything to disrupt Danzo's operations during his time as kage, so that part would remain unchanged.

Minato's only chance to prevent the massacre would have been if he recognized Obito AND managed to let someone else know who he was.

eh maybe but probably not. he was essentially just a puppet for hiruzen to control. he was also shown to be overhyped. obito made some valid points during the war to how big of a failure minato really was. he couldn't even sense his own damn students chakra and he actually calls himself a sensor? on top of that he was no match politically for danzo I'm sorry. danzo is one slick mofo and minato was clearly not that smart outside of battle. uchiha massacre would have still happened and who knows the village might have not been so properly defended during orochimarus invasion without hiruzen. hiruzen did a real good job raising up the shinobi during his reign you'd have to be a minato fanboy to say minato could have done the same considering 2-3 of his assigned kids "died" on his watch and kakashi became a mess until after minatos death

I even had minato die in my hypotetical story I just came up with. this thread is for speculation on if he had lived and how it would have impacted the characters and the series as a whole -.-
