Help itachi massacre the uchiha clan? Now that the shows over and we know everything, I believe kishi didnt even think about this angle.

Obito goes crazy seeing rin die, gets manipulated into becoming a fake madara to carry out the IT plan.

He heard kakashi speak of minatos son, so he took advantage of that and attacked konoha with the kyuubi. It was also as a revenge for his percieved negligence of minato to save rin. Thus this event was shown in obitos flashback.

Bow his goal was to gather the bijju to carry out IT, how does wiping out the uchiha help in that?

One possibility is that since the stone monument was the source of the info leading to the plan, he was afraid some uchiha may have been able to read it, and in advance realize what akstsuki were upto, forewarning the shinobi world.

That may explain why akatsuki took so long to move against the bijju. But I do feel that madara wouldve arranged for their extinction well before, if that were the case.

Yeah bit even if madara planned it I dont see why obito would carry it out, it doesnt fit with his own agenda, which he followed at all times.

Why would Itachi confront that suspicious Uchiha person who is coming and going out of the village without getting caught, it would be logical for Itachi to ask help from who he thought to be Madara who was betrayed by his clan.
