he doesnt have to have caught it from somewhere. some diseases are genetically. for all we know it could be some kind of cancer(lung cancer for example)

the fact is there is no cure for it, and other shad the same illnes as well (kimmimaru and sais brother) not even oro could cure that illness..so it must have been something serious...
