First of all. He didn't get any help from any sand ninja, he simply made a clone of himself by using that guy. A 30% clone of himself, still negged Naruto with finger genjutsu until he got saved by Sakura & Chiyo. The reason he only went there with a clone was because they were busy extracting the Bijuu out of Gaaras body. Too afraid? Please. Itachi would've murderstomped that blonde lesbian and you know it.

Yeah, he was about to break out but couldn't, because Itachi's genjutsu is too OP. Itachi could just kunai blitz his head off while he was in genjutsu but he didn't want to harm him you dumbass. And he lost 2v1 as a 30% clone. If he himself would've been there and he acutally wanted to harm them, the manga would've ended right there.
