its not misunderstanding or understanding at first, irs about Hagoromo look more to Ashura than Indra make him jealous and in turn Indra tried to persue his own ideology to denieing Ashura and Hagoromo worthy in shaping humans by Ninshuu.

But in the end Hagoromo tried to play equal by giving half of power to each of them

But after defeating Kaguya with team work, Indra as Sasuka still with his own motive and ideology on becoming ruler or something like that in his own individual way, but Asura as Naruto is preferring a cooperative way.

Even I an avid Sasuke fan have to accept Sasuke would be at best Ino-Shikamaru level if not for his Orochimaru's powers, Kabuto's drugs, and Itachi's handouts. Biased fans these days make very it perturbing to convey the essence of the manga facts of my favourite character. He always asked others to give him powers and I accept the crux of his tone. It makes his character more endeavouring.

But there is proof that Naruto and Sasuke is equal is when they both recieving Hagoromo power.

Current Sasuke and Current Naruto is sure are equalise. Its because their power is matured enough.

That would mean Harogomo gave sasuke more power than Naruto since naruto was superior before the equal power up.
The difference between 1 and 2 will always stay the same even if you add 50(or Harogomo) to both.
