This is a serious question so I would like your honest responses. Honestly not bashing :|
How do you feel about the sole purpose of Neji's death being to make your pairing canon?
Proud.
Apathetic
Guilty
He was what brought NH together after all. Well that and the movie

I would also like to hear the reason for your feelings as well.

Honestly Neji was going to die anyways. Kishimoto wasn't just going to kill off old people in the story. There was pretty much no way that all of the kids would survive the whole story, and since there was 2 Hyuga kids, they were the most expendable. Hinata already had her "death" scene with the pain arc so I figured if any of the kids were going to die then Neji was the most likely to. There's actually 3 Hyuga kids if you count Hanabi but she didn't partake in the exams or anything else.

Jiraiya and Itachi also had to die for Naruto and Sasuke to develop. Itachi could of told Sasuke the truth himself instead of just misleading him the whole time. Kishi was like "No no, we can't have that, I'll just make Itachi the only one in the series with cancer that way you know Itachi's death was inevitable".

None of the Rookies had moments like 98 or 559, which are very important for my whole idea.
You lost all your credibility when you said this, not that you had any credibility to start with.

I don't see you being credible with saying THIS either.
It's like you skipped everything I said as to what I meant there to begin with.

How about you read your statement over. Maybe about 10 times and realize how stupid it is.

Don't bother with him guys. He thinks Hinata is the greatest thing since sliced bread, when in fact she's the second worst character in the entire series.

Tenten, Shino, Kiba. Probably the most irrelevant characters in the whole series despite being part of the younger generation.

It's just my opinion, except I can back it up (and DID).
There are subjective things out there, ya know.
At least the things I dislike about Sakura are mostly objective (like the FACT that she lacks originality in-universe).

Eh, never cared for Neji. I liked his fight against Kidomaru and Naruto, but that was really it. Didn't feel much when he died.

I do remember thinking it probably hurt like hell though, having a giant stick rammed through your midsection. Pretty miraculous he could talk and wasn't choking on his own tongue or something.

Shippers never move on.Is this your first series or something?

I have yet to see a series where shippers move on in a even a year.I am already involved in the Bleach shipping wars as well and the situation there is similar Lol
\
Of course I dont behave uncivilised if my pairing doesnt happen but then in Bleach's case both of them make sense anyway

If you cant tell that ichigo and orihemi are gonna end , then idk...

There were so many other hints about Naruhina that Neji's death was not necessary to their pairing. The Pain Arc where Hinata tried to save Naruto and made her confession sealed the deal. Jiraiya's death was necessary to Naruto's growth but Neji's was not. I was kind of a waste in my opinion. Would have been better to have let Neji live and show that the main and branch thing end instead.

1. I totally disagree that Neji died "for NaruHina".
According to his own words, it was his own ultimate build-up based on the FREE BIRD idea.
Sad indeed, but NOT a "waste".
2. NaruHina indeed didn't NEED Neji's death - nor did it even CAPITALIZE on it, lol.
The very fact that Kishi STILL made it so they'd wait TWO MORE YEARS, shows that Neji was totally UNRELATED to the final outcome.
I don't give a fck about what Kishi himself said, cause he's a KNOWN TROLL in regards to his "interviews".
Kakashi's FACE is one such PROVEN topic.
Kishi's WORK speaks LOUDER than his WORDS.

Like Koshej I do not think Kishi killed Neji for the sake of Naruhina. When he said that the manga was already done and he was trying to hype the movie and sell movie tickets and memorabilia. I think Neji died because someone in the K11 had to die during the war and he could use the caged bird analogy that was hinted at with his father at the same time and that the main and branch family thing would end too.

Or at the very least made it a personal (well, negative, but still) salvation for Neji - cue the BIRD (and CHOICE) theme, which obviously has NOTHING to do with NaruHina, but has EVERYTHING to do with Neji and Branch Hyuugas.
The BIRD is probably the best indication that Kishi's WORDS are worth ZILCH - only his MANGA is what should be taken SERIOUSLY.

Considering that Neji died when there werent even facing the last villain, its sad that he died for that. Would have made more sense for them just to move Naruto over not just stand in the way of the spikes or whatever.
