Well nothing is beyond kishi but this connection is logical considering uzamaki feats with large amounts of chakra reserves and senju being known for that

And Sakura doesn't? Sakura's love for sasuke is just as shallow. And actually Karin loves sasuke because he saved her. So she completely idolises in her own psycho ways

Sasuke saved Sakura many times in part 1 and they actually had a bond, but Sasuke never had any bond neither stated that Karin was a dear person to him as he did with Sakura.
