The third hokage was always a suck up, if he really wanted Itachi to be hokage or consider him better or even qualified he would of told everyone the soul truth, and he was praised a lot as well in his "prime" so no doubt they would listen.

If he would've done that then the leaf would fall apart and ultimately grow to hate hokage due to secrets and abuse of power

Jiraiya stated that only once in a decade, he never praised Itachi or any one with such grace but him and Nagato (which had the rinnegan) and by which I already stated Minato only gets defeated or can be defeat or has shown to be defeated by such god like powers.

Dude, lmao Sage mode he already had or he wouldn't even have a contract with the toads. Its still apart of the sharingan dude. Finger genjutsu or head genjutsu.

He doesn't need to fight itachi and too do that that stuff he did and still be able to create a perfect rasengan as fast as he moves while all in motion tracking the kunai and perfect precision as its flying, and then to measure Obito's distances and his attack speed and jutsu is just un heard of.

Then to instant disband Rasengan to create a ftg seal without zetsu even knowing is just prodigy. Call it wank, but it happened and I ain't denying that he's great a chakra control and his reserves are even more greater if I keep going.

Sage mode lasting a min, secs, whatever is all speculation. He could of disbanded it for all we know, I don't approve of opinions, but saying it lasts for a made up time isn't even an opinion its a downgrade.

1 Itachi was 8 during the nine tails invasion so i doubt he would acknowledge Itachi. 2 how can minato use SM to get out of genjutsu when he doesnt even have time to build the chakra? Genjutsu solos

Minato's SM is poor, or as poor as it can be. By his own admission, "it takes too long to initiate and I cannot use it for long, that is why I have never used it in battles."

His SM is poor, and the guy admits it. There is no such thing as his prime. He died at his peak.

They reached the peak of the ninja world on thier own skill, without any handouts of the sort. Minato in his prime would have been an even greater legend than he currently is.

I need somebody to pinpoint exactly where his prime is.(not edo) He has been shown to use senjutsu while Edo but that's an asspull anyway. If he knew senjutsu already why not use it against obito? He's either really bad at it or only uses it as a last choice. If you can say prime minato is when he used senjutsu then i can say prime Itachi is when he wasn't sick but he MS Or was just less sick

Also at what point during his fight with Juubito did you expect him to be completely still to gather natural energy? He was too busy saving Naruto and Sasuke from Juubito to helping Sasuke and Naruto hit Juubito with their Enton FRS with Edo Tobirama, then giving Naruto chakra via Yin Kurama while FTG everyone to teaming up with Naruto to fight Juubito, to getting his chakra absorbed and rendered unable to fight until his chakra replenished.

Minato's skills with SM is where Pein Arc Naruto's skills were. Naruto was told he couldn't use SM in battle without comrades buying him time to be completely still to gather natural energy and balance it with his chakra and SM only lasted 5 mins at that time if I remember right, or until you used all of the Senjutsu. Edo Minato said it takes too long to knead Senjutsu as it did for Naruto, and he couldn't maintain it for long as Naruto couldn't. That's where fusing with Ma and Pa toad come into play, a Edo which is dead shouldn't be able to fuse with them. Also Edo Minato couldn't use the benefits of SM as SM awakens the body and you can't do that to a dead body. Toad SM users don't use senjutsu to enhance their strength, speed, durability, recovery rate, ect... The senjutsu powers up their body as Pa toad told Naruto how it awakens his body in many ways. An Edo body wouldn't get those powerups unless they actually used the senjutsu chakra to enhance their capabilities as Tsunade's/Sakura's enhanced strength focus chakra to a single point and release it or A's/3rd Raikage Lightning armor enhance their speed.

Itachi's only time we can say he didn't have his illness is when he was 13 but Obito knew of Itachi's illness and needing to use medicine to stay alive so part 1 Itachi and Part 2 Itachi are sick. If you want to choose a less sick Itachi then you'll have to remove Totsuka blade and Yata mirror since that Itachi would have to be before part 1 took place and for all we know a Itachi didn't have those weapons until the 3 years time skip. Also by that logic you can say Minato's prime is him living the 16 years and got much stronger so he can be in the same time period as Itachi and everyone. Minato is already strong enough to fight 2 strong and skilled Kage level ninjas at the same time and leave A with believing no one could surpass Minato and leave Bee trembling at the mention of Minato.

Minato can't beat Itachi, if we take them both at their prime then itachi wins. Minato had no senjutsu or kurama so Itachi wouldn't even need totsuka or yata because tsukuyomi solos.
Also he was completely still when madara went juubidara.

There is no "prime" Minato, really.

At the end of the day, it depends on whether you think he should have SM restricted in versus matchups when he is in his alive state, due to the fact he never used it while alive and stated he wasn't very proficient with it. But both those arguments can easily be countered if someone has a different opinion on the matter.

FALSE! Minato stated he didn't use it often, confirming that he did use it when he was alive. Minator and Bogard have made a good case in a thread that Minato can enter it quickly if it only lasts for a short period, and it takes much longer to have a decent amount of time in it.



Also, people seem to have a malfunction in logic. They think "bad at senjutsu" somehow=can't use it/it doesn't work. It's not as practical as the other SM users, but it's usable. Jiraya was "bad at senjutsu." Minato's a true sage. At the very least, you can't ignore that the potency of the mode itself is as high as Naruto's. The only question is can he get in it quick enough, and does he have adequate time to use it? However, Ma and Pa also solve this question regardless of what Minato can do himself.
